RESOLUTION 90-041 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO ADD TWO SPECIAL <br />COMPENSATION PROVISIONS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the <br />City of Santa Aha requires the City Manager to prepare, install and <br />maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to civil <br />service rules and regulations and the approval of the City Council; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and <br />adopted Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the <br />Basic Classification and Compensation Plan for officers and <br />employees of the City of Santa Ana; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Executive Director of Finance and Management <br />Services has identified the need for special assignment pay <br />differential for a single incumbent of certain classes in the Fleet <br />Services Division, to provide pay levels commensurate with assigned <br />duties and responsibilities in the coordination of technical <br />training for Division employees; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Executive Director of Finance and Management <br />Services has further identified the need for special assignment pay <br />differential for personnel in the class of Fleet Equipment <br />Technician II who maintain a State of California Unlimited Smog <br />Check Mechanic License and who perform City vehicle emissions <br />testing and certification; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend the City's Basic <br />Classification and Compensation Plan in order to add two new <br />special assignment pay provisions to provide pay levels <br />commensurate with assigned duties and responsibilities. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 3.1 of Resolution 82-110, as amended, is <br />hereby further amended by adding the following assignment pay <br />designations "w" and "x" to the existing list of special <br />compensation provisions: <br /> <br /> a. "(w) An incumbent of either the single position <br />class of Fleet Parts Supervisor, or the single position class of <br />Fleet Equipment Supervisor, who is regularly and continuously <br />assigned to and is performing duties in a technical training <br />coordinator capacity for the Fleet Services Division, shall be paid <br />an amount equal to the product obtained by multiplying the base <br />monthly salary rate being paid to an employee in the class of Fleet <br />Parts Supervisor, Step "C," by five percent (5%) (ten (10) salary <br />rate ranges). This differential shall be paid to such an employee <br />irrespective of his or her particular class or step within assigned <br />salary rate range." <br /> <br />o4. <br /> <br /> <br />
