Mills was presented on Variance Application <br /> <br />No. 1~85, to build a second single-family dwelling on property at 1724 Poinsettia <br /> <br />Street, in the R-1 District. At the request of the applicant, and on motion of <br />Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, action was continued to the <br />meeting of July 3, 1961, or when all members of the Council are in session. <br /> <br />Appeal Application No. 26 of Sidney Eggleton was presented on Variance Application <br /> <br />No. 149h, to build a duplex on an R-1 lot, with existing duplex and single-family <br /> <br />dwelling, at 919 North Verano Street, wherein the applicant appealed the denial of <br /> <br />the Zoning Administrator, stating the area in question is peculiar to most develope <br />areas and the neighbors are in the process of applying for R-2 Zoning to allow less <br />square feet per living area; to meet the increase in taxes, and to make the area oi <br />unused land look more presentable than a field of weeds. Walter Kashman, 804 Fal- <br />con Street, Anaheim, representing the applicant, stated the property is over 105 <br /> <br />feet deep, there were no protests to the proposed construction, and there now are <br /> <br />multiple units in the area. Will Cross, 923 North Verano Street, stated he owns <br /> <br />property to the north and did not object to the proposed duplex, but requested that <br /> <br />a wood fence be constructed six feet in height and to the length of the property, <br />with one-half of the cost of the fence at his expense. Holland was presented on Variance Applicati~ <br />No. 1493, to build two single-family dwellings on property at a location south of <br />1517 No. Parsons Place, in the R-1 District, wherein applicant appeals the denial <br />of the Zoning ASmtnistrator and requests reconsideration on the Variance. At the <br />request of the applicant, and on motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard <br />and carried, action was continued to the next meeting. <br /> <br />Appeal Application No. 22 of Goodwill Industries was again presented on Conditional <br />Use Permit No. 43, to erect an unenclosed roof structure for retail sales of pro- <br />ducts, on property approximately 144 feet by 200 feet, located 620 feet south of <br />the southwest corner of Fifth and Fairview Streets, in the M-1 District. Applicant <br /> <br /> Administrator s denial, stating the proposed use is not ccm- <br />appealed the Zoning ' <br /> <br />parable with any other use in the community, is of community-wide benefit, and <br />there were no protests to the use.
