<br />correctness of the assessment, and after a full, fair and impartial hearing and an
<br />opportunity having been given to all persons desiringto be heard, and the Council
<br />having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman
<br />Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 61-163 of the City Council of the City of
<br /> Santa Ana, California, confirming assessment as modified
<br /> in the matter of the improvement in Golden West Avenue and
<br /> other streets (Assessment District No. 20~) in said City"
<br />
<br />as described in Resolution of Intention No. 60-2~9, was considered and passed by
<br />
<br />the following vote:

<br /> This being the date set for hearing on the annexation of property consisting of
<br /> approximately 10.10 acres, located on the north side of Santa Clara Avenue, betwee=
<br /> East and West Grand Avenues, designated as "Grand Avenue West and Santa Clara N.E.
<br /> Annex"; the Mayor asked the Clerk if any written protests had been received, and
<br /> she replied there we re no n e. The hearing was closed. On motion of Council-
<br /> man Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the following Ordinance entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Ordinance declaring the annexation of that certain territory
<br /> designated 'Grand Avenue West and Santa Clara N. E. Annex'"
<br />
<br /> was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading.
<br />
<br /> This being the date set for hearing on the annexation of property consisting of
<br /> approximately 22 acres, located on both sides of Sugar Avenue, beginning at a point
<br /> approximately 650 feet east of Ward Street, designated "Sugar East of Ward Annex";
<br /> no protests were received and the hearing was closed. On motion of Councilman
<br /> Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, the following Ordinance entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Ordinance declaring the annexation of that certain territory
<br /> designated 'Sugar East of Ward Annex'"
<br />
<br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, the hearing on
<br />the proposed Budget for the fiscal year 1961-62 was postponed to the meeting of
<br />July 17, 1961.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilm~n Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, the communica-
<br />tion frc~ the Plan~ing C.-..,~ission was received and filed, ~ec~m~ending approval of
<br />the proposed Park Site N. W. ~1, located north of Sugar Avenue and west of Newhope
<br />S~reet.

<br />CummuLt~ication was again presented frc~ the Planning Commission recommending approva
<br />of the proposed abandonment of Sixth Street, between Mabury Street and the Santa An
<br />Freeway, subject to conditions, and on motion of Counc~lm-n Hubbard, seconded by
<br />Schlueter and carried, the communication was received and filed.

<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Counei]mtan Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the following Resolution en-
<br />titled:
<br />
<br />"Resolution No. 61-162 approving map and declaring intention
<br /> to vacate a portion of Sixth Street betweau Mabury Street
<br /> and the Santa Ana Freeway reserving therefrom a public
<br /> utility easement"
<br /> as rec.~,ended by the Departmen~of Public Works and Planning, subject to conditioz
<br /> reference request of Harry J. Tancredi, and setting hearing date on August 7, 1961,
<br /> was considered and passed by the following vote:
