405 <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Prior to issuance of building permits, the City of Santa Aha shall determine <br />through plan reviews that all appliances installed by the project applicant within <br />the project site shall be energ3t efficient in accordance with the California <br />Administrative Code, Title 20, Chapter 2, Subchapter 4, Article 4. <br /> <br />The project applicant shall coordinate with representatives of the Southern <br />California Gas Company to identify other energy conservation measures that can <br />be incorporated into project design. <br /> <br />Significant Effect <br /> <br />It is estimated that the new development will use an average of approximately 138,000 gallons per <br />day of water for domestic and irrigation purposes. This would add to the cumulative demand for <br />water in the region, which is subject to occasional shortages. <br /> <br />Finding <br /> <br />Finding 1: Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the project which <br /> avoid or substantially lessen the significant environmental effect identified in the linal <br /> E1R. <br /> <br />Facts in Support of Findings <br /> <br />The significant effect has been substantially lessened to the extent feasible by virtue of the design <br />considerations and the mitigation measure identified in the Final E1R and incorporated into the <br />project. This measure is as follows: <br /> <br />Prior to building permit issuance, the City of Santa Ana Public Works <br />Department shall determine that water conservation measures are incorporated <br />into the site design in accordance with applicable state and city statutes and <br />policies, including the use of low-flush toilets, low-flow faucets, self-closing valves <br />on drinking fountains, water pressure-reducing valves, Iow-water-using phmts in <br />landscaping, and efficient landscape irrigation systems that minimize runoff and <br />evaporation and maximize water reaching phmt roots. <br /> <br />JBI/08850001.SOF 17 <br /> <br /> <br />
