Attorney Thomas <br /> ~f. Thurman, First Western Bank Building, representing Ben Warner's Garage~ stated <br /> his client did not desire to monopolize this towing service, but requested competi- <br /> tion on the basis of certain minimum standards. This garage operates on a 2~-hour <br /> <br /> basis~ has a repair service~ a chain link fence~ and adeqUate insurance coverage t¢ <br /> <br /> Anaheim, <br /> protect the towed-in property. Attorney John White, 9776 Katella Avenue,/represent <br /> <br /> lng William Rush, 902 E. On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and <br /> carried, the matter was referred to the ^dministrative Staff for appropriate actio~ <br /> C o mmunieation was presented from the President, Los Alamitos Race Course request- <br /> ing support~ of their application for thoroughbred racing, to be directed to the <br /> California Horse Racing Board, 107 South Broadway, Los Angeles, and to the Associa- <br /> <br /> ted Chambers of Commerce of Ormuge County and enumerating the benefits of their <br /> from t~he City of Los Alamitos~ <br /> enterprise to Orange County; also Resolution No. 62,/ adopted July 19, 19~l, urging <br /> <br /> support and approval of the thoroughbred racing application of the Los Alamltos <br /> Race Course. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, ~econded by Heinly and carried~ the <br /> co~m~nicatlon and Resolution were received, filed, and the Clerk in~trncted to <br /> advise the California Horse Racing Board and the Associated Chsmbers of Cc~merce o~ <br /> Orange County of the support of the City Council for the application of the Los <br /> Alamitos Race Course for thoroughbred horse racing. <br /> <br /> Co m munlcation was presented from Attorney Maurice E. ~r~ght, 900 No. Broadway, <br /> representing Dale M. Fickes, owner-operator of Penthouse Executive Club, Citizens <br /> National Bank Building~ protesting the continued parking of?catering truck in the <br /> downtown commercial area, and the dispensing of foodstuffs from the side~lk~ and <br /> requesting a hearing before the City Council. Attorney Wright presented a peti- <br /> tion signed by approximately eleven persons protesting the daily parking of a <br /> catering truck immediately in front of the entrance to said building, and on motioz <br /> of Councilman Brewer, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the petition was received <br /> and filed. Attorney ~right cited Ordinances from the Cities of ~nsheLm and New- <br /> port Beach, and stated the Ordinance of the City of Ne~zport Beach provides adequat~ <br /> regulation~ to preclude the operators of catoring trucks from d~spen~ing food~tuff~ <br /> mhd products in est~blished dow~to~n~ business area~ of the City.
