<br /> Communication ~cas presented frcm Mrs. Mobert G. Holc~nb, 2211 East First Street,
<br /> owner of the Wishing Well Motel, requesting a discussion of the manner in which the
<br /> law is handled, and the law itself, in connection with the Re~orting Ordinance.
<br /> Mrs. Holcomb presented a ccmmnunication from the California Motel Association refer-
<br /> ence the City's Resortiug Ordinance, and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded
<br /> by Schlueter and carried, the co~-nications were received and'filed.
<br />
<br /> Communication was presented from Donald P. Kennedy, expressing willingness to serve
<br /> as a member on the Santa Ana Vehicle Parking District No. l, for a term of four
<br /> years. Hal Winter, Downtown Businessmen's Association , 208 W. Fourth Street, sug-
<br /> gested that Mr. Kennedy be appointed to serve on said Commission, and the Mayor ad-
<br /> vised Mr. Kennedy is not eligible as he resides outside of the City. On motion of
<br /> CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, Herbert L. Hill was appointed
<br /> to serve as a member of the Santa Ana Vehicle Parking District No. 1~ term to eEpize
<br /> June 30, 196h~nd the communication of Mr'. Kennedy received and filed.
<br /> Cormmmication was presented from Catarino M. and Consuelo C. Padilla, owners of
<br /> property at 919 No. English Street, submitting Cashier's Check in the amount of
<br /> $t00.00, in part payment for City-owned strip cf land approximately 25 feet in widt
<br /> on the south side of 10th Street, east of English Street, with a request to pay
<br /> $22.00 per month until the total consideration of $500.00 is paid. On motion of
<br /> Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the matter was referred to the
<br /> Manager for recommendation and report.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the oral request
<br /> of the Manager was approved, and permission granted to demolish a residence at 636
<br /> NO. Garnsey Street, in the Civic Center area.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the oral request
<br />of the Manager was approved to increase the limitation on the Agreement with the
<br />Land Acquisition Service by $2,500.00 for acquisition of property in the Civic Cen-
<br />ter area.
<br />
<br />On motion of COUncilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the Mayor was
<br />authorized to execute Chsnge Order No. l, dated July 10, 1961, with Staler, Inc.
<br />for the construction of sanitary sewer in Tustin Avenue, between First Street and
<br />a point apprcximately 610 feet north of Fourth Street, Project S-29, at an addition
<br />al cost of $1,319.00 to the City, covering ~O lineal feet of 24-inch diameter steel
<br />casing that must be Jacked and bored under Tustin Avenue~ one additional manhole,
<br />and a credit of $75.00 allowed to the City for reduction in quantity of paving re-
<br />pair work.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the request of the
<br />Department of Public Works was approved for payment to Pacific Drive-In Theatre,
<br />lbO South Robertson Boulevard, Los Angeles, in the sum of ~6,193.10, for City's sha~
<br />of street improvements on Sugar Avenue, east of Harbor Boulevard, in exchange for
<br />dedication of Sugar Avenue to the ultimate width, and construction of curb, gutter,
<br />sidewalk and pavement.
<br />
<br />On recummendation of the Department of Public Works, and on motion of Councilman
<br />Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, bond in the sum of $12,000.00, filed by
<br />
