The <br />program shall be conducted by qualified professionals <br />experienced at assessing residential distress. Selection of <br />the consultant shall be approved by the City Engineer. <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />The program shall include a detailed preconstruction survey <br />to document the present condition of all buildings and <br />facilities within a radius of approximately 300 to 500 feet of <br />the project as determined by the geotechnical consultant <br />and the City Engineer. Photographs, crack surveys, and <br />Installation of a reference benchmark beyond the zone of <br />influence shall be Included in the preconstructlon survey. <br />The program shall Include monitoring during pile-driving <br />operations and inspection of properties following completion <br />of operations. <br /> <br />Impact: <br /> <br />The project site Is expected to experience moderate to severe <br />groundshaking in the event of a major earthquake on a regional <br />fault. {The risk is no greater or lesser than for any other <br />structures in the general area, however.) <br /> <br />Finding: <br /> <br />Changes or alterations have been required in, or Incorporated <br />into the project, or are otherwise being implemented which will <br />mitigate this impact to a level of insignificance, in that: <br /> <br />All structures shall be designed and constructed in <br />accordance with seismic design requirements of the Uniform <br />Building Code or Structural Engineers Association of <br />California. <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br /> <br />
