325 <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: Councilmen <br />Absent: Councilmen <br /> <br />Royal E. Hubbard, Henry H. Schlueter, <br />Dale H. Heinly, Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall <br />None. . <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />Council Chamber <br />Santa Ana City H~l 1 <br />November 20, 1961. <br /> <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Reverend James Carr, Saint Peter Lutheran Church. <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of <br />November 6, 1961, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved <br />as mailed, on motion of Councilman Brewer, seconded by Nubbar~ and carried. <br /> <br />Bid acceptance <br />Aerial Ladder <br />Truck <br /> <br />A tabulation of bids was again presented for the furnishing and delivering of an <br /> <br />85 ft. aerial ladder truck, with aasociated equilm~ent, Specification No. 626-7, as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />The Seagrave Corporation <br />American LaFrance, Division <br />of Sterling Precision Corp. <br /> <br />Total <br /> <br />~7,522 · 80 <br /> <br />10~bond <br /> <br />Certified check $5100.00. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Counc~!m~n Reinly, seconded by <br /> <br />Brewer and carried, the bid of ~he Seagrave Corporation, in the total amount of <br /> <br />$48,776.00 was accepted, and the bid of American La France, Division of Sterling <br /> <br />Hearing <br />Vacate portion of <br />drainage easement <br />btn Davit Ave. and <br />County Wlood Control <br />District R/W <br />Reso. No. 61-265 <br />Ordering vacation <br /> <br />~recision Corp. being the lower bid, was rejected as it did not meet the required <br />specifications. <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearingto vacate a portion of drainage easement betweenDavit!i <br />Avenue and the Orange CountyFloodControl District right-of-way; communication was prer <br />sented from the Planning Commission recommending approval ofthep~oposed abandonment. No <br />protests were received and the hearing was closedJ The Council having unanimously' <br />waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by <br /> <br />Hubbard and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 61-265 ordering the vacation of a public <br />service drainage easement running between Davit Avenue <br />and the Orange County Flood Control District right-of-way" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Rearing <br />Vacate portion of <br />Washington Ave. east <br />of new alignment of <br />Jackson Street <br />Reso. No. 61-266 <br />Ordering vacation <br /> <br />Ayes, <br /> <br />Noes, <br />Absent, <br /> <br />Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Henry H. Schlueter, <br /> Dale H. Heinly, Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall <br />Councilmen None <br />Councilmen None <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing to vacate a portion of Washington Avenue east o~ <br />the new alignment of Jackson Street; communications were presented from the Plannin~ <br />Commission recommending this portion of Washington Avenue not be abandoned, as it <br />would deprive the Willowick Golf Course of access, since the City recently accepted!i <br />right-of-way; from Lloyd A. Roorda listing requirements under Conditional Use Permi~ <br />No. 51, and requesting that if the street be vacated, the land be returned to Barsc~, <br />the original owners; from The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company requesting an <br />easement be reserved to cover a pole and anchor in that portion of Washington Avenue <br />proposed to be vacated, in order to place additional facilities to provide telephon~ <br />service to the trailer park north of Washington Avenue; and from George Thompson, <br /> <br /> <br />
