Dahl, <br /> <br />401 West Eighth Street, representing the Wil~owick Golf Course, objected to the ~pro- <br /> <br />posed abandonment as it would deprive them of access at the northwest boundary of <br />the golf course and land-lock a parcel of property. Hall <br />Nos s, Councilmen None <br />Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing on the adoption of an Ordinance establishing <br /> <br />drainage fees, on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, <br /> <br />the matter was continued until the next meeting. <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing to determine whether or not the provisions of <br /> <br />the Zoning Ordinance of 1960 concerning the maximum permissible heights of buildings <br /> <br />should be altered, as set forth in Special Study ~17 and proposed amendments; <br /> <br />communications were presented from Downtown ~anta Ama Association submitting Reso-ii <br /> <br />lution of the Board of Directors meeti~ November 13, 1961, concerning some of the. <br /> <br />steps it feels necessary to adequately plan for the City's future, and advising th~! <br /> <br />Association will take an active part in attempting to formulate a Master Plan for <br /> <br />the City, and the proposed Multi-story Structure Ordinance Special Study ~17 be <br /> <br />adopted on an interim basis only; from the Chamber of Commerce advising the Board of <br /> <br />Directors adopted a recomm~endation of its Civic Affairs Committee urging the Counci~ <br /> <br />to refrain from adopting, at this time, the Ordinance as proposed in Special Study <br /> <br />~17, unless portions be enacted as an emergency Ordinance, until a complete and <br /> <br />comprehensive study of the attendant problems can be made; from Mrs. Amos Travis <br /> <br />protesting the acceptance of the rezoning as outlined in Special Study ~17; and~ from <br /> <br />Attorney C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., representing Mr. and Mrs. George N. Hale, property <br />owners at 20~0 North Broadway, objecting to the proposed Ordinance as recommended <br /> <br />in Special Study ~17. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and <br />carried, the communications were received and filed. Mrs. Ann Famularo, 2322 Sout~ <br /> <br />Ramona Drive, commended the Planning Commission and the Planning Department for <br /> <br />their efforts in compiling Special Study ~17~$nd urged the fmmediate adoption of <br />the Ordinance. Mr. Charles Clemenson, 1512 East Washington Avenue, representing <br /> <br />property owners in the area bounded by 17th Street, Grand Avenue, Mabury Street and! <br />the Freeway, presented petitions signed by approximately 300 residents of the Cameo!~ <br />Park area requesting the adoption of Special Study ~17; postpone any further zoning! <br /> <br />in said area until the Planning Department completes their special study of East <br /> <br />17th Street; not allow the south side of East 17th Street to become commercial or a~ <br /> <br />high rise building area; retain the area along the south side of East 17th Street <br />R-1 or R-4 zoning, and adopt a Master Land-Use Plan, and setting forth reasons for <br />objecting to high rise buildings in said area. On motion of CounciLman Hubbard, <br /> <br />seconded by Brewer and carried, the petitions were received and filed.
