Dicker & Associates was granted to conduct an auction January 17, 1962, <br />on the assets of M. Weiss and Company, 516 West hth Street. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Heln~y, seconded by Brewer and carried, the application of <br />Orange County Association for Mental Health was approved to solicit funds April 29 <br />through May S1, 1962~ with concentrated door to door Bell Ringer March, May 2, for <br />improved methods and services in research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and <br />care of the mentally ill. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Brewer and carried, the application of <br />the City of Hope wRs approved to solicit funds June 3, 1962, to maintain and expan~ <br />medical and research facilities at the Medical Center, Duarte, in the fields of <br />cancer, leukemia, operable heart diseases and tuberculosis. <br /> <br />C.~.~,~mication was presented frem Harry R. Martin requesting the return of the vehic <br />ular access rights frem Warner Avenue to Lots 29, BO, and B1 of Tract B638 and Lot <br />33 of Tract B589, bounded on the west by Wright Street, on the north by Maywood <br />Avenue, on the south by Warner Avenue and approximately B0 feet west of the Newport <br />Freeway, also copy of letter from Eugene C. Burleson, Right-of-Way Agent, Division <br />of Highways, pointing out the reason for said request. The Council having unanimou <br />ly waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded <br />by Hubbard and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 62-13 authorizing execution of Deed to Harry R. <br /> Martin quitclaiming vehicular access rights" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hall <br />Noes, Councilmen None <br />~bsent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brewer, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the letter request <br />of Pure Gospel Bible School and Temple, Inc., to solicit funds frc~a door to door <br />was denied. <br /> <br />Donald Hart, 2~21 Spurgeon Street, stated at the meeting held January 18, 1960, he <br />protested the tree cutting business being operated at 2313 Spurgeon Street~ in an <br />R-1 Zone, and was to receive a written report on this problem, which has not been <br />received. The Mayor instructed the Planning Department to conm~nicate with Mr. <br />Hart in regard to this matter. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the request of Mrs <br />Mary La Muth, 1514 West 12th Street, was denied for stop sign control at the inter- <br />section of Lacy Street and Wellington Avenue. <br /> <br /> <br />
