Donaher & Son, <br />The Conveyor Cempany <br /> <br />Total Alternate Bid Bond <br />$ll, 19~.~o ~ <br />10,~83.76 10~ <br />10,727.52 $11,767.52 10~ <br /> <br />On ree~endation of the <br />Schlueter and carried, the <br />amount of $11,198.80, said <br />all other bids rejected. <br /> <br />Manager, and on motion of Councilm~ Hubbard, seconded by <br /> bid of Dearth Machinery Co. was accepted in the total <br /> bid beim~ the best bid, although not the lowest bid, an~ <br /> <br />Appeal Application No. 58 was again presented on Variance Application No. 1613, <br />filed by Cresencio and Tereza Talavera, to allow a third dwelling to exist on an <br />R-2 lot at 316-318 North Harper Street for one year, wherein the appliqant appeals <br />the denial of the Zoning A~mtnistrator. Joseph J. Bleakley, 12021 Westminster Ave- <br />nue, agent for the applicants, stated the daughter of the Talaveras, who is now <br />occupying the dwelling in question, has recently contracted for the construction o~ <br />a home to be built on her own property, which will be completed in about 90 days; <br />at that time she will vacate the dwelling in question and it will then be destroyed <br />Mr. Bleakley further stated they are agreeable to the condition that the third <br />dwelling be removed prior to the utilities release by the Building Depar~-w~nt for <br />the proposed new dwelling. The Council haviug unanimously waived the reading of <br />the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, <br />the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 62-77 overruling the Zoning Admfnistrator and the <br /> Planning C.~,,~esion and granting Variance Application No. 1613 <br /> filed by Cresencio and Tereza Talavera, subject to conditions" <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. That the proposed detached single family dwelling be according <br /> to all R-2 regulations. <br /> <br /> 2. That the existing single family dwelling on the northerly portion <br /> of the property in question be totally removed prior to a utilities <br /> release for the proposed new dwelling; which will result in two dwell- <br /> ings as allowed on this R-2 property. <br /> <br /> 3. That development be otherwise according to plot plan. <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Counci~en Royal E. Hubbard, Henry H. Schlueter, <br /> Dale H. Hall <br />Noes, Councilmen None <br />Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />Appeal Application No. 59 was presented on Variance Application No. 1617, filed by <br />Sattler-Tarnutzer Mortgage Co., Inc., to erect a business office advertising sign <br />larger than allowed in the "P" District, at 2~01 East 17th Street, wherein the <br />applicant appeals the denial of the Zoning Administrator. Arthur Pilant, 2~01 Eas~ <br />17th Street, one of the owners of the property, stated the Mortgage Co. needs a <br />sign, and the neighboring property owners object because the sign is larger than <br />is permitted in the "P" Zone. Mr. Pilant further stated the majority of propertie~ <br />on both sides of 17th street are zoned for "C" use, which is the basis for the <br />appeal. Reynold Heiser, 13931 Deodar Street, presented letters of protest from Mrs <br />James W. Beshears, 13871 Deodar Street, and Janice L. Cinka, 139~2 Deodar Street, <br />and quoted a portion of Mrs. Cinka's letter stating the proposed sign would be <br />visible from any of the windows at the front of her house; and the Variance, if <br />granted, would open the door for similar requests. Mr. Heiser stated that when <br />17th Street was widened the decision for the best use of this property was for "P" <br /> <br /> <br />
