On motion of Councilman Heinly, sec- <br />onded by Brewer and carried, Revised Preliminary Record of Survey 249, filed by <br />Dcxander P. Lec~ard, was approved in accordance with Scheme 1, subject to condi- <br />tions as imposed, and the further conditions, that the shaded area as shown on the <br />map, with the exception of the easterly one foot for the entire length of the prop- <br />erty, be dedicated for street purposes; the applicant grant to the City, in fee <br />title, the easterly one foot of said property; and the plot plan previously sub- <br />mitted be substantially c~,~lied with. <br /> <br />Com~nunication was presented from O. A. Peters, District Superintendent, Garden <br />Grove Elementai'y SChool District, stating the Board of Trustees passed the follow- <br />ing Resolution at their meeting held May 14, 1962: "Motion: That the Garden Grove <br />School District request an adult crossing guard at the Rosita School pending a <br />thorough study of all phases of the crossing guard problem including the Safety Boy <br />Patrol," and requesting an audience with the Council for Mr. John C. Hedlund, Presi <br />dent of the Board of Trustees of the District, for the purpose of discussing with <br />the Council the matter of a crossing guard at the Rosita School. John C. Redlund, <br />10412 Doris Avenue, Garden Grove, President, Board of Trustees, Garden Grove Elem- <br />tary School District, stated alth~,gb it has been the policy in the past not to use <br />the school boy.patrol, the School Board is willing to investigate and obtain all <br />available inf~ormation regarding their use, and requested temporary relief, by the <br />.placement of an adult crossing guard, at the Rosita School, as there are not en~!~ <br />fifth and sixth graders at the present time to form a school boy patrol at this$i <br /> <br />location. It was moved by COuncilm~u Heinly, seconded by Schlueter and carried, <br />that the c~ication be received and filed, and the staff authorized to employ a <br />guard at the Rosita School for the balance of the school year, and a c~munication <br />be sent to the Board of Trustees, Garden Grove Elementary School District indicat- <br />ing that this is only a temporary relief for the balance of this semester, and <br />there will not be a,.erossing guard at this location in September. <br /> <br />Communication was presented from JJoseph Horn, Chairman, Firework~ Sales, Boy Scou~ <br />Troop~7, requesting permit to operate a retail "safe and sane" fireworks stand at~ <br />the southwest corner.:of McFadden Avenue and Center Street, on the school grounds o~ <br />the rmmaculate Heart of Mary Church. On motion of Councilm-n Brewer, seconded by <br />Schlueterand carried, approval was granted for the issuance of the permit to <br />operate a 'safe and sane" fireworks stand, subject only to the approval by the Fire <br />Department and in accordance with the us,m1 procedure. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hei~'ly~ seconded by Schlueter and carried, proper official <br />were authorized to execute agreement with Luminart Neon Company, Inc., Lyndy's <br />Coffee Shops and James A.
