R. Haan, Plymouth, Imc., to convert part of an R-2 lot into off-street parking, <br /> wherein the applicant appeals the denial of the Zoning Administrator. <br /> at 504, 510 and 512 Cypress Avenue,/ Mr. S. Gergens, 841 Leeds Avenue, Long Beach, <br /> <br />representing 0. R. H~n, Plymouth, Inc., stated the main business located at 505 <br /> <br />South Main Street, is a new car sales agency and service department and has no <br />present parking facilities for new car customers and service customers. Also, the <br />property at 504, 510 and 512 Cypress Avenue has been used for over fifteen years , <br />for off-street parking but only a portion of the property at ~Cy~ress Avenue can <br />be used for parking as there are residential b,,t!dings on a potion of the lot, and <br />it is not feasible to purchase any residential property for paring purposes, due <br />to the excessive expense. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of <br />the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Brewer~ seconded by Heinly and carried, the <br /> <br />following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 62'124 overruling the Zoning Administrator ~ <br /> granting a Variance on Variance Application No. 16B9 filed by <br /> O. R. Haan, Plymouth, Inc., subject to conditions" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, C~uncilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Henry H. Schlueter, <br /> Dale H. Hall <br />Noes, Councilmen None <br />Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />Crmm, mication was presented from the Planning C~m,!ssion recommending approval of <br />proposed annexation of territory designated "Newport and Dyer- S.E. Annex" consist- <br />lng of approximately 3921.45 acres, the major portion of which lies approximately <br />3½ miles south of E1 Toro Marine Corps Air Facility. On motion of Counc~lm~n <br />Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the cummunication was received and filed, <br />It was moved by Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, that Appeal <br />Application No. 63, Conditional Use Permit NS. 107, filed by Edward B. Whitaker, <br />1026 South Driftwood Drive, to establish a six-guest infirmary for physically <br />mentally handicapped children at 1026 South ~riftwood Drive, in the R-1 District, <br />removed from the table. It was moved by Counci!m~n Hubbard and seconded by <br />Schlueter, that Appeal Application No. 63 filed by Edward B. Whitaker, be denied <br />the decision of the Planning Cz..~..~ission affirmed. The Mayor asked Mrs. Whitaker <br />people could look into the room where the mentally retarded children will be. Hall <br />None <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Heinly, seconded by Brewer and carried, that this matter <br />be referred to the Planning Department to make recommendations for the necessary <br />changes which may be required under the conditions, if the Appeal is to be granted, <br />and report to the Council on July 16, 1962. <br /> <br />~oamm~nicat~on was presented from the Planning Department recommending approval of <br />Preliminary Record of Survey 268 filed by Trident Corporation, creating two lots <br />located on the northwest corner of Segerstrom Avenue and Bristol Street, subject to <br />conditions. At the written request of Attorneys Latham & Watkins, on behalf of the <br />applicant, on motion of Counctlm-n Heinly, seconded by Brewer and carried, action <br />was continued until August 20, 1962. <br /> <br /> <br />
