337 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 94-020 <br /> <br />Facts in Support of Finding <br /> <br />5-2 <br /> <br />Sub~luent to project approval, the Planning D/vision, Public Works <br />Agency and Redevelopment Agency shall coordinate development of <br />final street improvement plans, to ensure that project implementation <br />and the ultimate use of remnant parcels are consistent with appropri- <br />ate City policies, regulations and redevelopment plan strategies. <br /> <br />Hazardous Waste <br /> <br />Significant Impact <br /> <br />Unknown hazardous wastes may be encountered during construction. <br /> <br />L <br />[ <br /> <br />Finding <br /> <br />Finding 1: <br /> <br />Changes or alterations have been required in, or in- <br />corporated into, the project which avoid or substan- <br />tially lessen the significant environmental effect as <br />identified in the final EI1L <br /> <br />Facts in Support of Finding <br /> <br />The significant effect has been substantially lessened to the extent feasible by <br />virtue of the following mitigation measures identified in the Final EIR and <br />incorporated into the project. <br /> <br />7-1 <br /> <br />A preliminary site investigation (PSI) will be conducted for any sites <br />where hazardous waste/materials are encountered during construc~ <br />tion. A Phase II site assessment, including testing, will determine the <br />extent and type of contaminants involved, and the remediation proce- <br />dures, if required. Any necessary remediation action to properly dis- <br />pose of toxic waste materials will be in compliance with County, State <br />and Federal Policies and Procedures. <br /> <br />7-2 <br /> <br />If unknown waste/materials or an underground tank that the contrac- <br />tor believe~ may involve hazardous waste/materials are discovered <br />during construction, the contractor shall: <br /> <br />Immediately stop work in the vicinity of the suspected <br />contaminant, remove workers and the public from the <br /> <br />2.
