MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ~'I'ING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />January21, 1963 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Roll call was answered by <br />Councilmen Hubbard, Schlueter, Gilmore, Brewer, and Mayor Hall. Following <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was delivered by the <br />Reverend Glenn McFarland, Reformed Presbyterian Church. <br /> <br />MINUTES APPROVAL On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded <br /> by Councilman Schlueter, and unanimously <br /> carried, the City Council approved the <br />minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 7, 196B. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - MOTORCYCLF~ On motion of Councilman Brewer, <br /> seconded by Councilman Hubbard and <br /> unanimously carried, Council received <br />and ordered filed a bid received from Harley-Davidson Co., only bidder for <br />two motorcycles (Police Special) and approved award of the contract to Harley- <br />Davidson Company in the amount of $3,064.24, with trade-in. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - WALEER On motion of Councilman Brewer, seconded <br />TI~ATE~ ~IOLITION by Councilman Gil~Oro ~ carried, <br /> Council received and ordered filed a <br /> tabulation of bids received for demoli- <br />tion of the Walker Theater building; approved award of the contract to <br />Walter E. Hesse in the amount of $8,300.00; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />PAINT STRIPING MACHINE On motion of Counc~]m-u Hubbard, seconded <br /> by Councilman Schlueter and carried, <br /> Council received and ordered filed a <br /> tabulation of bids received for the fur- <br />nishing of a paint striping machine and postponed award of contract to the <br />meeting of February 4, 1963, on recom~__endation of the City Manager. <br /> <br />SALE OF REAL PROPERTY The Clerk notified the City Council that <br /> this was the time and place fixed for the <br /> opening of bids for the sale of property <br /> held for parking lot purposes on the <br />south side of Sixth Street, between Bush and Spurgeon Streets and that proper <br />notice of the sale was given. The Clerk reported that one bid had been re- <br />ceived and publicly opened and read aloud the bid from the Pacific Telephone <br />and Telegraph Company in the amount of $160,000. A certified check for <br />$~0,000. was then submitted by a representative of the company as deposit. <br />The Mayor thereupon called for oral bids from the audience. There being no <br />further bids, it was moved by COUnc~lm-u Hubbard, seconded by Counc~lm~- <br />Schlueter that the bid from the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company in <br />the amount of $160,000, be accepted.
