BALLOT PROPOSITIONS RESOLUTION NO o 63-27 ORDERING TEAT RESOLUTION 63-27 VARIOUS PROPOSITIONS BE SUBMITTED TO THE ~.~CTORS OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELEC- TION TO BE HELD APRIL 2, 1~63, TO AMEND VARIOUS SECTIONS OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO PROVIDE FOR THE TINE WHEN THE CITY WILL HAVE SEVEN COUNCILMEN~ TO INCREASE T~ SALARY OF THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY BY $75.00 PER. MONTH~ AND TO MAKE CHANGES IN (~1'~ CHARTER SECTIONS AS RECOI~NDED BY T~ CHARTER CO~4ITTEE, was introduced by title o It was moved by Councilmen Hubbard, seconded by Councilmen Schlueter that further reading be waived and Resolution No. 63-27 be adopted. On roll call vote: Ayes, Councilmen: Noes, Councflmen: Absent~ Councilmen: Hubbard, Schlueter, Gilmore, Brewer~ Hall None None STREET SERVICES On motion of Councilman Brewer, seconded by Councila~n Hubbard, and carried, Council approved for a six months period the request fro~Apostolic Jesus Name Church to conduct street services on Fridays, 6:00 pom. to 7:00 p.m. on the south side of Broadway at Fourth or at Bush and Fourth~ SOLICITATION REQUEST On~ motion of Councilman Brewer, seconded by Councilman Hubbard, and carried, Council granted permission to t~e Orange COo Voiture 527, 40 and 89 to solicit funds through May 5~ 1963o LIBRARY BOARD ~ayor Hall announced that a num- ber of suggestions and endorsements had been made to fill the vacancy on the Library Board of Trustees, and suggested appointment be made of three, composed of Councilmen Hubbard, Schlueter and himself, to study the qualifica- tions of the applicants. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Council- man Schlueter and carried, Council approved appointment of Mayor Hall, Council- man Hubbard and Councilm-u Schlueter as a committee to review the qualifica- tions of the candidates and submit a recommendation to the Council, and received and ordered filed a petition signed by approximately 730 persons endorsing ~Tohn Kinney° STRoll' BANNERS 0n motion of Councilman Brewer, seconded by Councilman Hubbard and carried, Council denied the request from Orange County Heart Association to place a Heart Fund campaign banner across Fourth Street at Main° CROSSING GUARD It was moved by Counci]m-u Brewer, seconded by Councilman Hubbard and carried, that the request for an adult crossing guard at Seventeenth and Spurgeon made by Mrs. L. Jo Johnson, be referred to the staff for investigation and report at the meeting of February CLOSE-OUT S~T.'I~'~J On motion of Councilman Gilmore, seconded by Councilm~u Hubbard and carried, Council received and ordered filed a letter from Hal Winter, Manager of the Downtown Santa Ana Association re- questing more definite restrictions in the holding of close-out sales by merchants; and directed the.
