370 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-007 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />for their job classification as authorized by the appointing <br />authority. When economic conditions, unusual employment <br />conditions, or exceptional qualifications of a candidate for <br />employment indicates a higher rate would be in the City's best <br />interest, the City Manager may authorize hiring at a higher rate in <br />the salary range but this higher rate generally shall not be above <br />the midpoint. <br /> <br /> B. Incumbents in the class of Fire Battalion Chief (MM) will <br />be hired at the rate described in Schedule BC-1 and its Attachment <br />A 'Fire Battalion Chief Salary.'" <br /> <br /> f. That Section 5 is hereby amended to add a new Subsection <br />5.12: <br /> <br /> "5.12 "Workday" for Fire Battalion Chief (MM). Incumbents in <br />the class of Fire Battalion Chief (MM) who are assigned to a <br />twenty-four (24) hour work shift will have their "workday" for all <br />time off purposes defined as equal to twelve (12) hours." <br /> <br /> g. That Subsection 6.1 is hereby amended to add a new <br />paragraph C, to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "C. 2 % at 55 PERS Retirement Benefit: Effective July 1, <br />1997, the City shall pay 2.266% of the cost of providing the 2% at <br />55 PERS Retirement Benefit for unrepresented non-sworn PERS <br />"miscellaneous" middle and executive PERS "miscellaneous" <br />management employees. Employees in classes designated non-sworn <br />PERS "miscellaneous" middle-management (MM) and non-sworn executive <br />PERS "miscellaneous" management (EM) shall pay one percent of their <br />salary towards the total cost of 3.266% for the 2% at 55 PERS <br />Retirement Benefit by taking a decrease of one percent in their <br />salaries effective July 1, 1997." <br /> <br /> h. That Subsection 6.3, as amended, is hereby further amended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />"6.3 Health Insurance. <br /> <br /> The City shall contribute towards the health insurance <br />coverage of all affected employees covered by this Resolution in <br />the Same manner and amount as provided for represented, non- <br />management general service PERS "miscellaneous" employees. <br /> <br /> Any contribution necessary to maintain benefits under any <br />health insurance program provided by the City for its employees and <br />their eligible dependents in excess of the amounts of the City <br />contribution be entirely borne by the employee." <br /> <br /> <br />
