472 <br /> <br />All new structures and parking lots shall comply with the provisions of <br />Chapter 8, Article II, Division 3 of the Santa Aha Municipal Code <br />(Building Security Ordinance). <br /> <br />Future projects shall be designed in accordance with applicable electrical codes, <br />including the National Fire Protection Association Code, the National Electrical <br />Code, and the City's electrical code. Future projects shall also be designed to <br />utilize energy saving equipment where applicable, per energy and gas conservation <br />regulations contained in Title 24 of the California Administrative Code and <br />implement SCE programs to increase efficiency of operations and reduce energy <br />costs. Title 24 requires inclusion of the following energy conservation features <br />into building design and construction: <br /> <br />Incorporation into new buildings a set of specific energy-conserving design <br />features. <br /> <br />* Use of non-depletable energy resources. <br /> <br />Demonstration that buildings would not consume more energy that <br />necessary. <br /> <br />SCE programs recommend buildings be designed to encourage utilization of <br />energy-efficient architectural and landscaping features to reduce energy demands. <br />These features: <br /> <br />Utilize natural heating and/or cooling through sun and wind exposure and <br />solar energy. <br /> <br />Utilize windowless walls for western exposures and site orientation of <br />buildings to use solar heating systems and efficient heating-cooling <br />systems. <br /> <br />* Utilize landscaping to moderate building heat gain. <br /> <br />Future projects shall be designed with the following water conservation methods <br />to the greatest extent feasible: <br /> <br />Water conservation devices shall be installed in all new or rehabilitated <br />commercial or residential structures. <br /> <br />Efficient irrigation systems which minimize nm-off and evaporation shall <br />be provided. <br /> <br />Future applicants shall utilize reclaimed water, subject to the review and <br />approval by the City Engineer. <br /> <br />FINDINGS OF FACT/MIDTOWN DISTRICT SPECIFIC PLAN/EIR NO. 94-1 21 <br /> <br /> <br />
