Regarding <br />Police Metorcyelns, that meder~ trend is to use more cars except in special <br />situations requiri~ ~aneuverability. Regarding ~ivil Defense, that it is considered <br />a necessary expenditure the: v~lue of which ~ay not be recognized until there is <br />a national e~ergency or natt~ral ~isaster; that the consolidation with onnother <br />department would not reduce the expe~liture. <br /> <br />Nrc Winter asked for ec~e assurance that a c~lete downtown lighting study <br />would be commenced in ~he 1~-65 Bad,et. The City Maz~ger c~mented that such <br />a study would cost about $700,000 and an allocation in the 1~-6~ Budget would <br />be required for about <br /> <br />Mr. Winter co~nented fux~cher on street improvements in the s~thern sections, <br />saying that developers of ~d should be required to put in the improvements, and <br />that more consideration should be ~iven to the area closer downtown. <br /> <br />There being no further testimony, the hearing was closed.
