MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SA~A ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />September 3, 1963 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 217 North <br />Main Street. Roll call was answered by Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard~ Harry Ho <br />Harvey, James Gilmore, Henry H. Schluater, and Mayor A. Allen Hall. Following <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was delivered by the <br />Reverend Fred Niedringhaus, Congregational Church. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MY_NU~ES <br /> <br />The Clerk reported that prior to <br />approval a correction to the minutes <br />of the Regular Meeting of August <br />19, 1963 should be as follows: <br /> <br /> C~?$ RESOLUTION 63~146 FIXING THE <br /> SALARY OF THE CITY MANAGER OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br />was read by title. It was moved <br />by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueter, that further reading <br />be waived and Resolution 63-146 be adopted. On roll call vote~ <br /> <br />AYES, COUNCILMEN: <br />NOES, COUNCILMEN: <br />ABSENT, COUNC II~N: <br /> <br />Hubbard, Gilmore, Schlueter, Hall <br />None <br />Harvey <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Harvey and carried, the <br />City Council approved the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 19, 1963 with <br />the addition Just read, and the Adjourned Regular Meeting of August 19, 1963, <br />held August 26, 1963o <br /> <br />SURPLUS PROPERTY Mayor Hall announced the sale by oral <br /> bidding of two parcels of surplus <br /> property at the northeast corner of <br /> First and Santa Fe Streets, described <br />in Surplus Property Reports 41-63 and 42-63. Following the call for bids on <br />Parcel No. i with a minimambid of $7,500, only one bidwas made. After three <br />calls for additional bids, Mayor Hall declared Parcel No. i sold to H. D. <br />Howell, llO1 East First Street, for $7,500. Mr. Howell deposited with the Clerk <br />of the Council $750 cash and signed a Statement of Bid required by the terms <br />of the saleo <br /> <br />Mayor Hall called for bids on Parcel No. 2 with a mini~umbid of $17,500~ Hearing <br />no bids, aTter three calls, the Mayor declared, that no sale had been c~nsummated <br />and referred the matter back to the Staff~ <br /> <br />STOBMDRAIN On mOtion of Councilman Hubbard, <br /> seconded by Councilman Schlueter and <br /> carried, Council received and ordered <br /> filed a report of bids received for <br />the construction of a storm drain in Huntzinger Avenue between the Pacific <br />Electric Railroad and the D-3 Channel - Project D-45; approved award of contract <br />to James A. Moran Construction Co. in the amount of $~5,413.12 at unit prices; <br />and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL - 194 - September 3, 1963 <br /> <br /> <br />
