RADIO UNITS On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded <br /> by Councilman Schlueter and carried, Council <br /> received and ordered filed a report that <br /> only one bid had been received, and <br />awarded the contract for three Police Radio Units for 1964 Police Units to the <br />only bidder, Motorola Communications and Electronics, InCo in the amount of <br /> <br />AMEND° APPo 463 <br />PILANT <br /> <br />between Linwood and Mabury Streets~ <br /> <br />Mayor Hall opened the hearing on Amendment <br />Application 463 filed by Arthur Pliant to <br />reclassify from the R i to the C 5 District, <br />property on the south side of 17th Street, <br />Planning Commission Resolution 5645 <br /> <br />recommended denial of applicant's proposal. The Clerk reported that notice <br />of the heariug was p,~blished ~n The Register on August 24, 1963, and that no <br />written communications or d0Jections had been received. <br /> <br />Mr. Ralph A. Dilemmas, 18022 0akridge Drive, co~-owner of the property, requested <br />that Council grant the reclassification, noting the difficulties in keeping <br />renters due to traffic noise; the change of more and more surrounding property <br />to commercial; and their plan to remove a garage to provide ten parking spaces. <br /> <br />Dean Evans of the Planning Department, informed Council of the Commission's <br />policy to recommend two lots to orient property to the Eo~ 17th Street commercial <br />area. Mayor Hall cited the parking problems created on West 17th Street prior <br />to the adoption of such a policy. There being no further testimony, the hearing <br />was closed. <br /> <br />It was moved by Cotmcilman Hubbard tha~ the C$uncil deny the reclassification <br />as recommended by the Planning C~mnissiono Motion lost for lack of a second. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Harvey, seconded by Councilman Gilmore, that the <br />Council approve the reclassification and instruct the Attorney to prepare an <br />amending ordinance according to Exhibit AA 463.
