Planning Commission <br />Resolution 5646 recmmmended approval of Exhibit AA ~68 A. The Clerk reported <br />that notice of the hearing was published in The Register on August 24, ~196~, <br />and no written c~ama~nications or objections had been received. <br /> <br />Mr. La~-y Golden, 110 W. First Street, spoke on behalf of the applicant stating <br />that $26,500 duplex buildings were planned for that area. <br /> <br />Mr. Delbert Michael, 917 S. Toland speaking for the Homeowner's Association amd <br />families in area stated they wanted assurance that the buildings would not in <br />any way depreciate the value of their homes. Mr. Frank E. Rorpel, Jr., 1620 <br />Kent Lane, Newport Beach, assured him that he, himself, wanted a good return <br />for his investment in the ~uilding of the duplexes, therefore, they would not <br />depreciate the area. <br /> <br />Mr. ArturoMoreno, 6BO S. Corta asked if any possibility of a variance could be <br />put in under R 2. Mayor Hall replied not under thi~ application° Mr. Golden <br />noted a portion of property is already R 2. Mrs. M. Cenkar~ 806 S. Ridge Drive, <br />said if the duplexes were built as stated, and not two-story buildings they <br />were in favor of them. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Gilmore and carried, <br />Council approved the reclassification and instructed the City Attorney to <br />prepare an amending ordinance according to E~hibit AA ~68A. <br /> <br />~2AMEND. APP. ~69 Hearing was opened on Amendment <br /> pENNALL Application ~69, filed by Francis <br /> Penhall to reclassify from <br /> the R 2 to the C 5 District property <br /> on the south side of F~inger between Greenville and Fairview. Planning <br /> C~mmissi~m Resolution 56~7 recommended approval of Exhibit AA k69 A.
