Roll call was answered by Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Harry H. <br />Harvey, Henry H. Schlue~er, and Mayor A. Allen Hall. Cou~ucilman James Gilmore <br />was absent. Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation vas <br />delivered by the Reverend Garland Lacey, Wilshire Presbyterian Church. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded <br />by Councilman Schlueter and carried, <br />the City Council approved as mailed <br />the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of <br />September 16, 1963. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - WIDF~'IN~3 i?TH~ On mo%ion of Councilman Hubbard, <br />BUSH TO SFu~RGEON seconded by CounciLman Schlueter and <br /> carried, Council received and ordered <br /> filed a report of bids received for <br />the widening of 17th Sbree~ between Bush and Spurgeon Streets; approved award <br />of contract to R. J. Noble Company in the amount of ~5,714.87 at unit prices; <br />and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - T~UCK On motion of Councilman Hubbard, <br /> seconded by Councilman Harvey and <br /> carried, Council received and ordered <br /> filed a report of bids received for <br />one truck, 19, O00 0.V.~.; approved award of contract to George Dunton Incorporated <br />in the amount of $~,613.30; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - 16 TON On motion of Councilman Hubbard, <br />WRECKEF~ & BODY seconded by Councilman Schlueter and <br /> carried, Council received and ordered <br /> filed a report of bids received for <br />one 16 ton wrecker and body; approved award of contract to Co~ercial Truck <br />Bodies in the amount of $2,~25.00; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />HEARING Mayor Hall opened the hearing on Appeal <br />APPEAL 9~ - Application 92 filed by John V. Sarinana <br />SAEINANA from the Planning Commission's denial <br /> of Variance 1815 to construct a ~6 unit, <br />two-story apartment development on R i property at 2020 W. 8th. The Clerk <br />reported that notice of the hearing was given by the Planning Department as <br />required by law, and that no written communications or objections had been received. <br /> <br />The Clerk reported that the appellant, in his appeal application, had requested <br />that the matter be referred back to the Planning Commission for consideration of <br />16 single-story units instead of the original 26 two-story units requested. There <br />being no response to the Mayor's call for testimony, the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Nsbbard, seconded by Councilman Harvey and carried, Appeal <br />Application 92 was refer~gd back to the Planning Co~nission for reconsideration. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL - 212 - <br /> <br />October 7, 1963 <br /> <br /> <br />
