of Hathaway from 125 feet south of Fourth Street to 125 feet north of First <br />Street. Planning Cnmmission Resolution No. 5651 recommended denial of <br />applicant's proposal. The Clerk reported that notice of the hearing was <br />published in The Register on September 21, 1963 end that no written communications <br />or objections had been received. <br /> <br />Dick Horton, 1523 N. Broadway, applicant, cited the m~ny signatures he had <br />favoring the change to C 2, the plsnning Staff's rec ....... endation for CM zoning <br />with which he concurred, and the Co~ission's subsequent denial. The <br />Planntn~ Director explained that the PlanntB~ Commission felt that the area <br />was proper for commercial zoning, but because of the residences still there, <br />it would be advisable to delay rezoning and develop by variances. There being <br />no further testimony, the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councllmsn Harvey, seconded by Councilman Hubbard and carried, <br />C~uncil approved thc reclassification and instructed the City Attorney to <br />prepare an ordinance according to Exhibit AA 470 B. <br /> <br />HEARING Mayor Nail opened the hearing on Amendment <br />AMEND. APP. 472 - Application 472 filed by R. Perry Davis to <br />DAVIS reclassify from the R 3 and P to the R 3 B <br /> end PB District property on the south side <br />of l~th Street between Main and Broadway. Planning Comission Resolution 5650 <br />recnmmended approval of Exhibit AA 472 A. The Clerk reported that notice of <br />the hearing was published in The Register on September 21, 1963 end that no <br />written communications or objections had been received. There being no <br />response to the ~ayor's call for testimony, the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, secouded by Councilman Schlueter and carried, <br />the City Council approved the reclassification and instructed the City Attorney <br />to prepare an amending ordinance according to Exhibit AA 472 A. <br /> <br />HEARING - SECOND Mayor Hail opened the hearing on proposed <br />STREET VACATION vacation of a portion of a street running <br /> north from First along the west line of <br /> the Southern California Railway Depot <br />grounds and a portl~ of Second Street running from said west line easterly <br />to the track of said railway ccmpany. The Clerk reported that notice of the <br />hearing was published in The Register on September 14, 1963, and that no <br />written ccamunications or objections had been received, but that the Public <br />Works Department had requested the hearing be continued. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilmau Schlueter and carried, <br />that the matter be continued to November 4, 1963 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council <br />Chambers. <br /> <br />DECLARING <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NS-690 DECLARING THE ANNEXATION <br />OF TERRITORT DESIGNATED "BRISTOL STR~mT <br />AND GAEDEN GROVE FREEWAY SOUT~-AST A~m~" <br />was read by title. <br /> <br />It was moved by CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueter, that <br />further reading be waived and Ord~ma~ce NS-690 be adopted.
