MIllES OF ~ REGU~R OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA January 6, 1964 The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 217 N. Main Street. Roi1 call was answered by Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Narry E. Harvey, James Gilmore, Henry H. Schlueter, and Nayor A. Allen Hall. Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was delivered by the Reverend Delwin Thig~en, Spurgeon Methodist Church. APPROVAL OF MINUTES On motiGu of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueter and carried, the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 16, 1963 and the Adjourned Regular Meeting of December 23, 1963, were approved. HEARING - APPEAL 105 Mayor Hall opened the hearing GONZALES (V.A. 1842) continued from December 16, 1963 on Appeal 105 filed by Louis E. Go~zales from the Planning C~ls- sion's denial of Variance Application 18~2 to operate a drive-in food service at 2328 W. McFadden in the R 2 District. John Gilbert, 607 First Western Bank Bu/lding, attorney, appeared on behalf of the appellant, offering to give any information desired by Coumcil. No one appeared in protest to the appeal, and the hearing was closed. It was moved by Couuci]~An Hubbard, seceded by Councilman Gilmore and carried that the City Council overrule the deeiai~ of the Planning C~m,~ssion and instruct the City Attorney to prepare a i~Bolution approving Variance 18~2. HEARING - AMEND. APP. Mayor Hall opened the hearing on 478 - HASSON Appeal Application 478 filed by Albert Hasson, proposin~ to amend Sectional District Map 24-5-10 to reclassify from the R 2 to the P District property on the east side of Sycamore betweea Co~-mercial Street and St. Andrews Place. Planning C.~.=~lesion Resolution 566~ rec~-..~nded approval of E~hibit A.A. 478 A. The Clerk reported that notice of the hearing was published in The Santa Ana Register on December 21, 1963 and that no written c.-..-~mications had been received. W. H. Seeley, 822 S. Van Ness~ stated that the application was the result of three months of stu~ between the applicants and the Planning Department, and the Planning C~m"~ssion and it was the opinion of the applicant that the best use of the property would be professional. It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Gilmore and carried, that the City Council approve the reclassification and instruct the City Attorney to prepare an amending ordinance according to Exhibit AA 478 A. ~ARING - AMEND.
