Followin~ the Ple4~e of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was delivered by the Reverend Fred Nie4ringhaus; Congregational Church. APPROVAL OF MIFu~E8 On motion of Cotmcilman ~ubbar~%; seconded by Council-~ Harvey and carried; the Minutes of the Regular ~eeti~ of February 17; 1~ ware approve~ as mailed. BID AWARD - On motion of Councilman Hubl~r~l; seconded ~OTORC~CLE by COUnCilma- HarVey and carried; Council received and or~ere~ filed a report of the bid received for furnishin~ a motoroycle for police use; approved award of the contract to Harley-I~vidson Motors in the amount of $1,~3.34. BID AWAt~D - On motion of Councilman Hubbard; seconded STREET ~ION by Councilman Harvey --~ carried~ Council received and oxxlered filed a report of the bid received for furnishing machinery labor to apply emulsion to street areas; approve(% award of the contract to G. J. Poyne Corporation in the amount of $0.135 per sq. yd.~ totall~ $~$~9.~6 for an estimated 43,333 sq. c~? BID AWABD - On motion of Coxtuci~mau Gilmore, seconded AUTOMOB/W.wa by Councilman Hubbard an~ carried, Council received amd ordered filed a tabulation of bids received for furnishing five ~-door sedans equipped for police use; accepted the bid of George Dunton, Incorporated as the lowest and best bid in the amount of $2,1~3.3~ per unit, with a trade-in credit of $~00.00 each for five automobiles; and rejected all other l~i~s. HEAR~G - APPEAL 118 Mayor Hall opened the hearing continued RE~NOSO - V.A. 1872 from February 17~ 196~ on Appeal 118 filed by the Director of Public Works from the Planning CO~-w, ission' S approval without conditions of Variance 1872 (Reynoso & Co. application to construct eight 4- unit apartment buildings on separate C 2 iota at 1619-16B3 W. Walnut).' The Planning Director reported that the Planni~ C_~.?mission had reconsidered its action and now recommended the attachment of conditions outlined in report dated March 2, 196~. Dca Fr-,w~in, 2450 Riverside Drive, was present represent- lng the applicant. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Harvey and carried, Council overruled the action of the Planning Cc*-w~esion and instructed the City Attorney to prepare a resolution granting Variance Application 1872 subject to the conditions described in the Plan~ing Director's report dated March 2, 196~.
