APPEAL - H1U~TON Mayor Hall opened the heari~ on <br /> W~ll~rd H. Hilton*s appeal frc~ the <br /> Chief of Police's refusal to issue <br /> a permit to operate a taxicab. The <br />Clerk reported that notice of the hearing had been mailed to the Chief of Police <br />and the appellant three days prior to the hearing. There being no testimcuy <br />the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Harvey and carried, <br />Council granted the appeal and instructed the Chief of Police to issue an <br />operator's permit to Mr. Hiltan. <br /> <br /> ~A/Jf <br />APPEAL 124 - AGUILAR Mayor Hall opened the hearing c~ Appeal <br /> Applicatio~ 12~ filed by Joe and Eula <br /> Aguilar from the Zonin~ Administrator's <br /> denial of Variance Applicatiom 1914 <br />to construct a second single famil.v unit on an R 1 lot which would reduce the <br />required rear yard at 1502 W. 8th Street. <br /> <br />The Clerk reported that evidence of giving notice of the hearing was on file <br />in the Clerk's office and that no written cusaaunications had been received. <br /> <br />Thomas w. Marshall, 12021 Westminster, representing the almpel!an~t, cited six <br />lots in the block with R 2 zcuing and noted Mr. Aguilar pl---ed to put in side- <br />walks, curbs, an~ paving. <br /> <br />Manuel Serrano, 120~1 Westm~-ster Avenue, also spoke ~n b-bAlf of the applicant. <br />In answer to a question from Councilman Harvey, the Acting P~-~_= Director, <br />Mr. Stevens, reported the area to Be single f-~ly in the opinion of the Planning <br />staff. Fairview. <br /> <br />The Clerk reported that evidence of giving notice of the hearing was on file in <br />the Clerk's office and that no written ¢~,-~¢ations had Been received. <br /> <br />The Planning Director stated that at the time of the hearing before the Zoning <br />~istrntor, the applicant's intended p~ans were not clear].V understood; that <br />the department now approved his proposal, subject to the conditions that the <br />temporary sales office Be permitted for a Period not to exceed one year; and <br />that development be according to plot plan. <br /> <br />Les Miller, 50~ W. Edinger, of Fairlane H~aes, Inc., stated that the conditions <br />were agreeable. There being no further response to the call for testimony, the <br />hearing was closed. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Co~ucilman Schlueter and carried, <br />that the Council overrule the action of the Zc~t~ Administrator and instruct <br />the City Attorney to prepare a resolution granting Variance Application 1920, <br />subject to conformation with plot plan; and that the sales office Be Permitted <br />until the last unit is sold but not to exceed one year, whichever first occurs. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL - 358 - April 6, 196~ <br /> <br /> <br />
