RESOLUTION NO. 2002-019

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA AFFIRMING PLACEMENT OF THE
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1320 NORTH BROADWAY ON
THE SANTA ANA REGISTER OF HISTORICAL
PROPERTIES

Kdo/3/12/02

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines
and declares as follows:

On November 3, 1997, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana by
Resolution number 97-046A placed two hundred twenty three (223)
properties on the Santa Ana Register of Historic Properties including the
applicant's property, 1320 North Broadway, Santa Ana.

Bo

The subject property, known as the Weissman-Flagg House, was included
on the Santa Ana Register of Historic Properties because it was
determined that the property fulfilled the criteria for both historical and
architectural significance outlined in Section 30-2 of the Santa Ana
Municipal Code.

On May 3, 2001, the Historic Resources Commission categorized the
property as Key pursuant to criteria contained in Section 30-2.2(2) of the
Santa Ana Municipal Code.

1. It was determined that the Weissman-Flagg House has a distinctive
architectural style and quality because it is a very well articulated
example of Craftsman style architecture, which was influential
during the first quarter of the twentieth century.

Additionally, the structure is associated with a significant person or
event in the city of Santa Ana for its association with the Weissman
and the Flagg families who were prominent local merchants.

On March 7, 2002, the Historic Resources Commission after conducting a
duly noticed public hearing, and considering all of the evidence presented,
unanimously voted to affirm the placement of the property located at 1320
North Broadway on the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties.

Resolution No. 2002-019
