RESOLUTION NO. 2002-078 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 2002-16 AS CONDITIONED TO ALLOW CONSTRUCTION OF A CHURCH ON THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2001 WEST MAC ARTHUR BOULEVARD Kdo/09126/02 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: Conditional Use Permit No. 2002-16 came before the City Council of the City of Santa Ana for a public hearing on October 7, 2002. Bo Conditional Use Permit No. 2002-16 has been filed with the City of Santa Ana by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange to allow the construction of Christ Our Savior Cathedral Parish at 2001 West MacArthur Boulevard. The Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana held a duly noticed public hearing on September 23, 2002, on Conditional Use Permit No. 2002- 16 and voted by a vote of 6:0 (Richardson absent) that the City Council approve Conditional Use Permit No. 2002-16 as conditioned. Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 41-638 authorizes the City Council to grant a conditional use permit upon making certain findings. That the granting of a Conditional Use Permit is necessary for the preservation and enjoyment of one or more substantial property rights. Christ Our Savior Cathedral Parish, as conditioned, will contribute to the general welfare of the community by providing a religious facility that is not currently found in the area. Will the proposed use under the circumstances of the particular case be detrimental to the health, safety or general welfare of the persons residing or working in the vicinity? The cathedral parish is not anticipated to create any detrimental impacts to persons residing or working in the area, as all functions will be conducted within the enclosed Resolution No. 2002-078 Page 1 of 4
