AUTOMOBILES <br /> <br />On motion of Councilm-n Hubbard, seconded <br />by Councilman Schlueter and carried, <br />Council removed from the agenda at the <br />request of the Manager, bid call for <br />six automobiles~ Spec. 621-~8. <br /> <br />HEARING - APPEAL 136 <br />V.A. 1998 - FAmm O <br /> <br />N~yor Hall and Councilm-n Schlueter were <br />disqualified from discussion and action <br />in this matter because of a conflict of <br />interest, and left the Council table. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Hubbard opened the rehearing on Appeal 136 filed by Ao H. and <br />Helena Famularo from the Planning Commission's denial of Variance Applicatic~ <br />1998 to construct a hospital for the care and treatment of geriatrics, psychiatrics <br />and alcoholics in the R i district at 1420 E. Santa Clara° <br /> <br />The Clerk reported that notice of the hearing was mailed to adjacent property <br />owners on November 30, 1964, and the following ccmmunications had been received: <br />Certificate from Ernest R. and Nora Io Machander dated November 18, 1964, <br />stating they were owners of the subject property and that Ao H. and Helena <br />Famularo at all times throughout the proceedings had been their duly appointed <br />agents; letters in opposition from Esther and Martha Sexlinger, 16412 E. Santa <br />Clara; Louis and Helene Yung, 16281 Eo Santa Clara; Oo Wilbur Fix, 2121 N. <br />Grand; and The Sierra Parent ~Teacher Association. On motion of Councilman <br />Harvey, seconded by Conncilma~ Gilmore and carried, the co~m~unications were <br />ordered filed. <br /> <br />The City Attorney ruled that inasmuch as the certificate from the property owners <br />was not filed with the application as required by the Municipal Code, the <br />application was invalid and the Council had no authority to act upon it. <br /> <br />In view of the City Attorney's ruling, Vice-MAyor Hubbard declared the proceedings <br />terminated. Mayor Hall and Councilman Schlueter resumed their places at the <br />Council table. <br /> <br />HEARING - APPEAL 137 Mayor Hall opened the hearing continued <br />VoA. 2004 - DAVIS from October 5, 1964 on Appeal 137 filed <br /> by Jack Davis from thePlanning C~maission's <br /> denial of Variance Application 2004 to <br />construct a commercial building with retail sales and general offices in the R 1 <br />district at 1430 E. 17th. <br /> <br />The Clerk reported that postponement until after the Christmas holidays had been <br />requested by Herman Bo Altman, 1618 No Linwood, and John M. Hoy, 1514 N. Linwoo~. <br /> <br />On motion of Councllm-u Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueter and carried, <br />the letters were ordered filed and the hearing was continued to the meeting of <br />January 18, 1965 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber. <br /> <br />HEARING - A oAo 524 Mayor Hall opened the hearing on Amendment <br />PILA~tT Application 524 filed by Arthur B. Pliant <br /> to amend Sectional District Map 4-5-9 by <br /> reclassifying from the P to the C 5 <br />district, property on the north side of 17th between Deodar and Ponderosa. <br />Planning Ccm~ission Resolution 5707 recommended approval of Exhibit A.A. 524 A. <br /> <br />The Clerk reported that notice of the hearing was published in The Register on <br />November 14, 1964 and that no written communications or objections had been <br />received.
