<br />SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Solid Waste collection and Recycling plastic carts ("carts") for <br />curbside service, City of Santa Ana, California <br /> <br />Description <br /> <br />Size A: <br /> <br />35 gallon <br />Depth: 23.75 inches maximum (including handles) <br />width: 19 inches maximum <br />Height: 35 inches maximum (to body rim) <br /> <br />Size B: <br /> <br />64 gallon <br />Depth: 27 inches maximum (including handles) <br />width: 24 inches maximum <br />Height: 39 inches maximum (to body rim) <br /> <br />Size C: <br /> <br />96 gallon <br />Depth: 34.5 inches maximum (including handles) <br />Width: 26 inches maximum <br />Height: 43 inches maximum (to body rim) <br /> <br />All three sizes must be available in green, grey and burgundy. <br /> <br />Technical Requirements <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Body: Carts shall be injection molded of virgin high density <br />polyethylene plastic. The body of the cart shall be molded to <br />present a smooth interior and exterior surface. The body of <br />the carts shall have a minimum wear strip under the floor of <br />\ inch (protecting the floor from abrasive contact with the <br />street surface). <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Material: Recyclable polyethylene, <br />rating of HB or better. <br /> <br />U.L. <br /> <br />approved with a <br /> <br />Average Wall Thickness: <br /> <br />size A: <br />Size B: <br />Size C: <br /> <br />Not less than .140 inch <br />Not less than .160 inch <br />Not less than .165 inch <br /> <br />Carts shall be suitable for use in temperature of >120° F to <br />-20°F. All plastic and component parts used in the <br />construction of the carts shall be recyclable into other <br />polyethylene products. Crosslink resin is not acceptable. <br />All carts shall be manufactured with a minimum of 20% post <br />consumer recycle content. <br /> <br />Carts shall be manufactured with a UV stabilizer. The UV <br />stabilizer shall be added in the solution during the <br />polymerization, prior to pelletizing, compounding and molding. <br />Independent laboratory tests of the carts bid must accompany <br />bid samples certifying compliance as specified in part 2 of <br />the detailed specifications. <br />
