There being no further testimony, the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />The Planning Director noted the Master Plan called for business and service <br />commercial and outlined the type of businesses, which are considered secondary <br />uses to prefessic~al zone; stated that a protective landscaping strip fifteen <br />feet wide along Broadway was reccmmended~ and that no structure would be closer <br />than sixty feet to Broadway; that if development other than shown were proposed, <br />building permits could be Withheld and a re-zoning enacted. He also explained <br />that present street construction was inadequate to handle increased traffic, but <br />that Dr. Faustman, traffic consultant working on the General Plan, had prepared <br />a solution which City Engineers are evaluating for submission in the General <br />Plan. <br /> <br />It was moved by Counc~lm~n Gilmore, seconded by Councilman Schlueter that Co~mcil <br />approve the reclassification and instruct the City Attorney to prepare a~ amend- <br />i~ ordinance according to E~hibit A.A. 527-B. Mayor Hall stated the development <br />should be as shown by the applicant, otherwise he would be unalterably opposed <br />to it. The motion to approve the reclassification according to E~hihit A.A. 527-B <br />was adopted. <br /> <br />HEARING - Mayor Hall opened the heari~ on <br />A.A. 528 - EANNARENO Amendment Application 528 filed by <br /> Joseph M. and Rose Marie F~areno <br /> to amend Sectional District Map <br />7-5-9 by reclassifying from the R B to the C B district, property on the west <br />side of Spurgeon between 6th and 7th. Planning C~mmtssion Resolution 5711 <br />rec~ended approval of E~hibit A.A. 528 A revised, w~ich would reclassify to <br />the C 3 and P districts. <br /> <br />The Clerk reported that notice of the hearing was published in The Register on <br />December 10, 196~ a~ that no written co--cations or objections had been <br />received.
