Mr. Evans <br />displayed a drawing of the prOPosed building~ citing as Justification for <br />the variance the Planning Cc~a~ission policy regar0~ng two lots on 17th; the <br />fact that 17th Street is a primary street; there have been two rezm~ings to <br />C 5 nearby; there is C ~ zoning i~aediately west; that the application meets <br />all C ~ regmtations. <br /> <br />~erman Altmam, 1618 N. Li~wood, representing about thirty residents in opposition <br />~6 the' application, objected to the 20 foot driveway on Linwoo~; noisy compressors <br />and large trash bias which would go with proposed use; amd building om the <br />property lime with no buffer zone for the residential property. Join M. Hoy, <br />I5I~ N. T.t.WO0~, stated that in the area all places rezoned C ~ had been <br />~equired to have R 1 B or residential parking at least 50 feet wide, but that <br />the current project came within 2½ feet of the residential PrOperty. <br /> <br />In rebuttal, Mr. Evans stated that the driveway on Liawo~l possibl~ could be <br />eliminate~l; that the trash cans would be at the far right ha~l side cf the Build- <br />lng adjacent to the shOPp~n_= center; that the setback ~eets C 5 re~Alation; that <br />the compressors would be on top of the building; an~ that vehicles to a~l frm <br />a parking lot would be acre of a nuisance to adjacent residents.
