MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />March 7, 1966 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m., in the Council Chamber, 217 N. <br />Main Street. Roll call was answered by Councilmen James Gilmore, Walter <br />Brooks, Davis Burk~ Wade Herrin, J. Ogden Markel, Tcm McMichael and Mayor <br />Harry H. Harvey. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES On motion of Councilman Brooks, <br /> seconded by Councilman Herrin <br /> and carried, Council approved <br /> the Minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting of February 21~ 1966 and the Special Meeting of March 2, 1966. <br /> <br />EXECUT/VE SESSION On motion of Councilman Gilmore, <br /> seconded by Councilman McMichael <br /> and carried, Council adjourned <br /> to Executive Session to discuss <br />personnel matters at 2:20 p.m.; the meeting resumed in the Couucil Chamber at <br />3:40 p.m., with all CounciLmen present. <br /> <br />SURPLUS PROPERTY SALE The Mayor announced sale of <br />KING & 10TH real property, Parcels #1, <br />~ ~2 and #3, on the west side <br /> of King at 10th. The Clerk <br />reported no sealed bids received. The Mayor called for bids from the <br />audience; with no response to calls for bids, the Mayor declared no sale of <br />the property. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - In the absence of the City <br />PROJ. 204 Manager, the Assistant to <br />g~ the City Manager presented <br /> report of bids received for <br />Project 204~ construction of Warner from Newport Freeway to Redhill. On <br />motion of CounciLman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Burk and carried, Council <br />ordered filed report of bids received, awarded contract to Sully-Miller <br />Contracting Company at lZuit prices, and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - The Assistant to the City <br />PROJ. 196, 231, C-124 Manager presented report <br />~ of bids received for <br /> Project 196, widening of <br />Grand between 2000' north of 17th and Santa Clara; Project 231, widening <br />of Santa Clara frcm Grand to 600' east of Grand; Project C-124, widening <br />Mabury between Palm and Fourth. On motion of Councilman Burk, seconded by <br />Councilman Herrin and carried, Council ordered filed report of bids received, <br />approved award of contract to Griffith Company at unit prices, and rejected <br />all other bids. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - The Assistant to the City <br />FIRE ALARM CABLE Manager presented the report <br />Y~ of one bid received for Fire <br /> Alarm Cable, Item #l, 12,000' <br />Secondary; Item ~2, 6,000' Primary, Spec. 634-16. On motion of Councilman <br />Burk~ seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried, Council ordered filed the <br />report of bids received, approved award of contract to Maydwell and Hartzell, <br />Inc., at unit prices inasmuch as the prices were no higher than last year. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL - 473 - March 7, 1966 <br /> <br /> <br />
