PLAVAH CONDEMNATION Thomas E. Heffernan, attorney representing Pleven, et al, in a condemnation action regarding Fairview Street, requested consideration of an offer to settle in excess of that agreed to by the Administrative Staff. The Manager reported the Staff was following the same policy for participating in street improve- ments on major streets as had been followed with all other owners or developers. Following a lengthy discussion of the many problems encountered when attempting to arrive at a fair price, motion was made by Councilman Bark, seconded by Councilman Brooks and carried, that the Public {corks Director proceed .with negotiations in accordance with established policy. Council- man Gilmore voted "no." P SURPLUS PROPERTY REPORT On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried, the City Council declared surplus and authorized demolition of house on the north side of Sixth, west of Olive, as identified in Surplus Property Report 31-66. SALARY INCREASES On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried, the City Council approved salary increases for meritorious service, as listed in Manager's Report dated 11/30/66. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE LICENSES The Council discussed at length -_L the'new,procedure for reporting on Alcoholic Beverage license applications. The Manager explained that each application was being investigated by various departments with a summary report from his office. He assured Council he would report any departmental recommendation which is different from his own. On motion of Councilman McMichael, seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried, the following applications were ordered filed: Orange Distributing Co., Sale Beer & Vine, Person Traveler's Inn Hofbrau, Beer, Person transfer: Chat Noir$'218 E. 17th - RECESS c t! " ° ANNEXATION REQUEST 7522 Park Ave., G.G., Off transfer, 3G4 N. Broadway - On sale New On Sale Beer. At 3:45 P.M., the meeting was recessed for ten minutes and reconvened at 3:55 P.M. Speaking on a request from property owners at the westerly end of Silver Drive, the City Manager reporzea znaz a caeca with the City of Garden Grove revealed a question about the subdivision of the property and requested additional time for investigation. On motion of Councilman Burk, seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried, the matter was submitted to Staff for further study and report at a later date. CITY COUNCIL -82. December 5, 1966
