estimated ninety days to complete the work; that there were streets to the east <br />and west in addition to one lane of traffic in each direction being maintained <br />on Main Street; that it would be reasonable to assume that within a week prior <br />to Easter the project could be above Washington Avenue; and asked permission <br />to c~ence the work starting Wednesday morning. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried, <br />that the contract be awarded to the low bidder, Far Western Pipeline, Inc., <br />at unit prices bid; that all other bids be rejected; and that the report of <br />bids received be ordered filed. Mayor Harvey reminded Mr. McGuire of the <br />merchants' problem and asked him to do everything possible to assist them. <br /> <br />STORM DRAN2~ D-57 ~ ~C~ On motion of Councilman Herrin, <br /> seconded by Councilman Markel and <br /> carried, the City Council ordered <br />filed report of bids received for Project D-57, Storm Drain in Segerstrom <br />Avenue frem Towner to Flower; awarded contract to Famco Construction Company <br />at unit prices; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />FAIRVIEW PROJECT 27h~/({ ~a~ On motion of Councilman Brooks, <br /> seconded by Councilman Narkel and <br /> carried, Council ordered filed <br />report of bids received for construction of Fairview, Project 27~, frem <br />Segerstrc~ to 1000 feet south of Warner; awarded contract at unit prices to <br />Sully-Miller Contracting Company; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />ROSITA PARK POOL ~ ~ ~ ~ '3 <br /> - Council received a letter from <br />Sealtight Construction Company, the <br />second low bidder on Project C-141 <br />Rosita Park Pool and Building, objecting to award of the contract to the low <br />bidder until written verification is received from the State Registrar of Con- <br />tractors that the low bidder held proper license at the time of bidding. <br />Edward J. Modes appeared on behalf of Sealtight Construction C~mpany. Stan <br />Nelson, of Nelson-Baird Construction Company, the low bidder, stated that he <br />had flown to Sacramento and talked to Mr. McKay in the State office to verify <br />the firm's eligibility and that a letter could be produced within 24 hours. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by CounciJm-n Herrin and carried, <br />award of the contract was postponed to the next regular meeting. <br /> <br /> BID CALLS On motion of Councilman Gilmore, <br /> seconded by Councilman McMichael <br /> and carried, Council approved plans <br /> and specifications and authorized advertising for bids for: <br /> <br /> £%%%~'Project 252 - Euclid Street frc~ Hazard Avenue to Westminster Avenue; and <br /> Project C-146 - Euclid Street frcm 660 feet south to 210 feet south of Bolsa <br /> Avenue, and Bolsa Avenue frc~ 200 feet east to 660 feet east of Euclid <br /> Street, opening date March 28, 1967; <br /> <br />C% E%~ i Vehicle - for use of Fire Department as Rescue Company, opening date <br /> March 20, 1967; <br /> 1~ ~Operation of Parking Concession at Santa Aha Municipal Stadium for years <br /> 1967 and 1968, opening date June lB, 1967. <br /> <br />CIT%' COL~CIL -135- N~rch 6, 1967 <br /> <br /> <br />
