SUi~PL~JS EQUIPMENT e~%'~ On motion, of Councilman Herrim, seconded <br /> by CounciLman McNichael and carried, Council <br /> ordered filed report of surplus vehicles <br />and equipment~ declared the items surplus and authorized auction sate on April 8th <br />or disposition hy other m~ans of items not sold at auction. <br /> <br />ALT~mt~ATE CONSTRUCTION ~l~ '~ ~ Council considered request of Goodwill <br />GOODWILL INDUSTRIES Industries for additions to building at <br /> 2702 W. 5th which would constitute <br />violation of the Building Code. It was .moved by Co~nci~m~ ~rooks~ seconded by <br />Councilman Narkel dud carried, that the alternate construction be approved subject <br />to conditions listed in Building Director's report dated March 13~ 1~67. <br /> <br />SUBPLUS PROPERTY %9' ~ On motion of Councilmam Gilmore, seconded <br /> by Councilmam Herrin and carried, Council <br /> ordered filed Surplus Property Report <br />2-67 regarding residence at 1702 W. 8th, declared the building surplus and authorized <br />sale if possible or demolition after 90 days. <br /> <br />PERSON~IEL BOARD ~% ~i Mr. James Radcliffe's resignation from <br /> the Personnel Board was accepted with <br /> regret~ on motion of Councilman ~arkel~ <br />seconded by Councilman B~ooks, and an expression of appreciation was ordered prepared. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Markel, seconded by Councilman Herriu and carried, that <br />Robert Gunton be appointed to the Personnel Board to fill the unexpired term ending <br />J~l~ 1, 1968. <br /> <br />SURPLUS PROPE~I~f C% qf Warren Proctor, agent for the City in <br />8TH AND BRISTOL proposed sale of surplus property at <br /> 8th and Bristol, reported he had received <br />an offer of $40,000 for the property, subject to issuance of building permit and <br />$30 i~DO deed of trust o He explained the parcel is irregularly shaped with limited <br />~L ~ss, and that financing on undeveloped land is difficult. The City Manager <br />reco~ended against accepting the offer unless it were on cash basis. <br /> <br />Councilman McMichael suggested it wouldn't be out of line to accept a financing <br />arrangement for 18 months with a due date in order to facilitate sale, and move~ <br />Mr. Proctor notify the buyer the Council must reject the offer as submitted, but <br />based on the discussion, see if the offer can be adjusted in order to make it <br />acceptable. The motion was seconded by Councilman Brooks and carried. <br /> <br />RECESS At 4:10 p.m. the meeting was recessed <br /> to 7:30 p.m., at which time it was <br /> reconvened with all Councilmen present. <br />Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was delivered by <br />The Reverend Calvin Cooper, First Methodist Church. <br /> <br />APPEAL 189, BERNBAUM VAR. 67-8 Hearing was opened on Appeal 189, <br /> filed by Max Bernhaum from the <br /> Plan~g Commission' s denial of <br />Variance Application 67-8 to construct a one-story building for retail sales and <br />installation of tires, brakes and front e~d aligr~ents at 223~ S.
