Dean Evans, representing the applicant, showed plot plan and map of area a~l cited <br />as justification for variance the s~m~lar development at Van Ness, eight blocks <br />away. He n~ted also that the application meets all the requirements of the C 5 <br />zone and that the surrounding property owners have no objection. The Planning <br />Director reviewed the application and the action of the Plannimg Commission. <br />There being no further testimony, the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />Councilw~ NcNichael c~ented that the General Plan does not indicate Warner <br />for c.~--.ercial zoning and that actually there is about a half mile between the <br />applicant's property and the development at Van Ness° <br /> <br />It was moved by Council~=~ Brooks, seconded by Co~ncilm~ Nerrin, that the Council <br />overrule the decision of the planning Commission and instruct the City Attorney to <br />prepare a resolution granting Variance 67-8 subject to conditions set out on Page <br />3 of the Planning Staff Com~entso 0m roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Gilmore, Brooks, Burk~ Herrin, Markel, Harvey <br /> <br />NOES: McNichae 1 <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />PARCEL NAP ~92 Filed by English, creating four parcels <br /> south of 17th and west of King Street; <br /> approved subject to conditions in Planning <br />Director's report dated 3/14/67 and alley requirement waived, on motion of Councilman <br />Gilmore, and seconded by Counc]1man Brooks and carried. <br /> <br />PARCEL NAP 502 Filed by Clark, creating two parcels at <br /> southwest corner of Central Ave. and <br /> Susan Street; approved subject to <br />condition,s in Plemming Director's report dated 3/1~/67, on motion of Counci]~-u Gilmore, <br />seconded by Councilman Brooks and carried. <br /> <br />WATE~ c( ~f;~0L BOAPd) 0~ motion of Councilman Narkel~ seconded <br /> by Councilman Brooks and carried, Council <br /> ordered filed letter from Orate County <br />Water District, urging support of appointment of Robert A o Daily as the industrial <br />representative on the Santa A~a River Basin Regior~l Water Quality Board. and instructed <br />the Attorney to prepare a resolution supporting M~ Daily's appointment. <br /> <br />NAY0-BR~,:,) FOFJ~ Cottncil received a resolution from the <br />HIGHWAY F~NDS Soutlhern California Regional Association <br /> of County Su~rvisors urging revision to <br />the Mayo-Breed formula to provide minimum of 60 per cent of State Nighway Construction <br />Funds to Southern California.
