In addition, all participants will be Basic Skills tested using TABE <br />materials. <br /> <br />Will the participant receive a certificate of completion or accomplishment <br />for participation? <br /> <br />Directly following the completion of a program component, participants will <br />receive a certificate of completion at a "graduation celebration" honoring their <br />achievements. <br /> <br />An additional incentive includes joining our existing ClubService, an <br />Americorps program that encourages Club members to earn educational <br />awards through volunteer service. ' <br /> <br />How will continuous improvement be conducted? <br /> <br />Since the Boys & Girls Club began providing Career Prep in 1998, continuous <br />improvement has been critical our success. Participant feedback by 375 <br />graduates over four years has resulted in a program that today is more <br />interactive and flexible. It delivers skills to the participants, provides fun social <br />interaction, and includes computer-based learning activities. In addition, staff are <br />continually monitored to ensure program success. The Assistant Executive <br />Director meets with Program Managers each week to discuss program <br />accomplishments, problems, new ideas and training. Weekly meetings bring <br />issues to light early on, so that problems are dealt with before they critically affect <br />positive program outcomes. <br /> <br />The Club has also been a regular employer in the Summer Youth Employment <br />Program (SYEP), averaging 30 youth each summer.
