On motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Carlson and carried, <br />the matter was referred to the staff to report at the next meeting in regard <br />to the inter-relationship of the Municipal Code section with state and <br />Federal legislation. <br /> <br />WEST DOWNTOWN DIAGONAL On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded <br /> by Councilman Herrin and carried, Council <br /> approved the proposed West Downtown <br />Diagonal, engineering alignment of Fourth, Fi~th and Sixth Streets connection <br />at Ross Street a~d authorized the purchase of two lots at 5th and Ross for <br />$118,000 o O0 o <br /> <br />STADII~M RENTAL t ~ ~ ~J~ Charles Schlegel presented request from <br /> the Orange County Ramblers Football <br /> Assoc~at'i~n for a reduction in stadium <br />rental fees, explaining they would like to enter into an annual contract <br />with the City. The Assistant City Mamager reco~m~ended the contract for <br />$10,000o00 for a maximum of eight games° <br /> <br />On motion of Councilm~ Brooks, seconded by Councilman Carlson and carried, <br />the City Council instructed the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance to <br />amend Municipal Code to provide for aunual contract for stadium rental, <br />and further to prepare contract with Orange Co~uty Ramblers for $10,000o00 <br />annual fee for eight games. <br /> <br />SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS ~q ~5 On motion of Councilman Thurman, seconded <br /> by Councilman Griset and carried, the <br /> recommendations of the staff in Report <br />dated April 28, 1967, were approved in regard to School Crossing Guards, <br />setting warrants for placing of guards. Mr. Spragg commented the Staff would <br />begin communicating with the schools and P oToAo groups and would seek further <br />policy guidance frmn Council if necessary. <br /> <br />MEDICAL DIRECTOR %q~l~' On motion of Councilman Griset, seconded <br /> by Councilman Carlson and carried, Council <br /> confirmed Manager's appointment of Dr. Tad <br />Lonergan as City Medical Director for Civil Defense purposes o <br /> <br />ABC <br /> ~L The request for reconsideration of the <br /> ~' protest ordered by the Council on June <br /> 5th on the Alcoholic Beverage License <br />Application of T-G-I-F Company at 225 No Harbor was discussed at length with <br />representative of owner of property, Nfo Kobayashi and Mr° Saudon~ representing <br />proposed lessee. <br /> <br />On motion of CounciLman Thurma~ seconded 1fy Councilman Carlson and carried, <br />the matter was continued to the meeting of July 17th, and the Clerk was <br />instructed to give the Council the cemplete file on the matter. <br /> <br />SALARY INCREASES ~ ~0 The City Manager's report dated 6/28/67 <br /> reco~,mending salary increases for meri- <br /> torious service was approved on motion <br />of Councilmau Griset, seconded by Councilman Markel and carried° <br /> <br />CITY COUNCrr, 227 July 3, 1967 <br /> <br /> <br />
