MANAGER'S SALARY Noting that the City Manager's salary <br /> must be set by separate resolution, it <br /> was moved by Councilman Griset, seconded <br />by Councilman Herrin ~nd carried, that action be deferred to t he next Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Janice Boer ststed that her comments <br /> at the last City Council meeting were <br /> not included in the Minutes of August <br />21, 1967, (City Council Minutes Page 271) and that a correction to the Minutes <br />of August 7 made by the City Council on August 21 were not included in the <br />Minutes (City Council Minutes Page 271). <br /> <br />Janice Boer presented an unsigned statement from the Board of Directors of <br />the Property Owners Protective Leauge, Inc., criticizing the City Council's <br />decision on the alignment of First Street and methods of acquisition, <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried, <br />the communication was ordered filed. Mayor McMichael commented that Mrs. <br />Boer had been heard at the various public hearings on First Street and it <br />was not the intention of the City Council to reopen the hearing. <br /> <br />RECESS At 5:20 P.M., the meeting was recessed <br /> to 7:30 P.M., at which time it was <br /> reconvened with all CounciLmen present <br />Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was delivered <br />by the Reverend Robert D. Fraley, St. Luke's Methodist Church. <br /> <br />CITATION Mr. Gene Cook, Volunteer Chairman of <br /> the Red Cross First Aid Committee of <br /> Orange County, presented to Fire <br />Chief John Garthe a special citation for the First Aid Training Program <br />within the Santa Aha Fire Department. Members of the Fire Department <br />present were recognized. <br /> <br />SURPLUS PROPERTY Mayor McMichael announced the sale of <br /> real property described in Surplus <br /> Property Report 41-63, consisting of <br />one parcel on the east side of Santa Fe Street, south of Second Street, with <br />a minimum bid of $9,500.00. The Clerk reported notice of the hearing pub- <br />lished and mailed as required by the Municipal Code with evidence on file, <br />and reported further that an offer of $9,500.00, accompanied by a Cashier's <br />Check, had been submitted by H. D. Howell. <br /> <br />In response to the Mayor's call for additional bids, the following oral <br />bids were submitted: $9800.00, $9900.00, $10,000.00, $10,100.00, $10,300.00, <br />$10,500.00, $10,900.00, $11,500.00. There being no further response after <br />three calls, the property was declared sold to H. D. Howell for $11,500.00. <br /> <br />AMEND.
