Being self-sufficient for preparing critical documents, like a resume, proves invaluable in <br />all future career endeavors. <br /> <br />Research Day <br /> <br />Purpose: To instruct clients on the cast avenues to discern the current array of job opportunities. <br />Workshop will expose clients to a wealth of sources, both traditional and emerging, explaining <br />the prachcality of books, job lines, periodicals, lnternet and "networking." <br /> <br />Benefits: Enable the client to do job search pro-actively. Clients will learn by doing these <br />activities and assignments. Imparting life-long skill set to clients will provide for clients <br />occupational well being over the long-term. Investigative as well as self-supportive traits are <br />enhanced, as is the realization of self-sufficiency. <br /> <br />Knowing Me--Knowing Them <br /> <br />Purpose: To instruct the client in how to "know" by the exploration and investigation of the/r <br />inner self; a personal understanding ofthemselves first enables them to understand what they <br />bring to a prospective employer on personal strengths--very critical for dislocated workers; <br />clients are prepared for the selling process; clients must also explore themselves for personal and <br />professional satisfaction. Clients are also instructed in how to ascertain employer needs and <br />match these needs with their own needs for fulfillment and enrichment. Clients are taught how to <br />research job opportunities while identifying proper matches to their own sense of"needs." <br /> <br />Benefits: Workshop enables the clients to become knowledgeable about self. Client focuses on <br />goals and needs, differentiating between both and developing inventories of both. Clients <br />thoroughly understand contemporary employers/labor market their desires, essential needs, best <br />and worst case scenarios. Clients determine their personal strategy for creating a cohesive team <br />with potential employers. <br /> <br />Organizin~ and Getting Ready <br /> <br />Purpose: To instruct the client in the importance of personal record keeping and follow-up as it <br />pertains to the job search process; realizing that the first impression is made immediately on the <br /> <br /> <br />
