APP. 619 - ROHRS Hearing was opened on an application filed <br /> by John Rohrs proposing amendment of <br /> Sectional District Map 6-5-9 to reclassify <br />property on the east siae of Santiago Street between 17th and Catalina from the <br />R l, R lB, and R 2 Districts to the C k District. There being no response to the <br />call for testimony, the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />A motion '0y Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Herrin, to approve the <br />application and instruct preparation of an ordinance to reclassify according to <br />Exhibit B, which would reclessify to the R l, R lB, and C ~ Districts, was adopted <br />on roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Herrin, Brooks~ <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Carlson, Griset, Markel, Thurman, McMichael <br /> <br />TAXI OPERATOR'S PERMIT Hearing was opened on an appeal filed by <br /> Gerald Farnsworth ~om the Police Chief's <br /> denial of a permit to operate a taxicab <br />in Santa Ana. Since 'the applicant was not present, it was moved by Councilman <br />Carlson, seconded by Counci~aan Herrin and carried, to continue the hearing to <br />later in the meeting. <br /> <br />At the end of other business, the applicant still was not present and the appeal <br />was denied on motion of Councilman Carlson, seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br />carried. <br /> <br />PARCEL MAP 537 Parcel Map 537 filed by Jack L. Carlsen, <br /> creating three parcels on the south side <br /> of Sixth between Wright and Lyon, was <br />approved subject to conditions in the Planning Director's report dated 1/31/68, <br />on motion of CounciLman Griset, seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried. <br /> <br />TENT. TRACT ~P 6540 <br /> <br />WestMood, was considered by Council. <br /> <br />Tentative Tract Map 65~0 filed by Emmet C. <br />Rogers, creating 27 parcels on the north <br />side of Santa Clara between Olive Lane and <br /> <br />Donald B. Chri~teson, developer of the property, said they were in agreement with <br />all of the conditions required by the Planning Commission except for Items 9a, 10, <br />and ll. He stated that in regard to 9a, they would like to reduce the parkway <br />area to 4 feet and have a ~ foot area inside a 4 foot sidewalk to give the owner <br />an additional h feet of front yard~ in regard to Condition 10, the developer would <br />like to plant landscaping against the wall3 and in regard to Condition ll, the <br />developer would like for the City to pay the cost of reconstructing curb and gutter <br />at new location. <br /> <br />The Planning Director and Public Works Director, noting these requests and plans <br />were not known to them prior to the meeting~ reported in regard to Condition ll that <br />standard policy called for City to pay costs of reconstruction; regarding Condition <br />l0 that previous Council instructed staff to recommend eight foot walk since park- <br />way areas outside development were rarely taken care of; and regarding 9a the <br />extra ~ feet is public right of way and not a part of owner's front yard. <br /> <br />After a lengthy discussion, it was moved by Councilman Brooks, seconded by Council- <br />man Herrin, to approve Tentative Tract Map 65h0 subject to all of the conditions in <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />37h- <br /> <br />February 5, 1968 <br /> <br /> <br />
