TRAFFIC ~o <br /> <br />Brooks and carried. <br /> <br />R~Q~rt of control devices removed or installed <br />1/8/68- 1/30/68 was ordered filed on motion <br />of Councilman Eerrin, seconded by Councilman <br /> <br />SURPLUS PROPERTY ~+~ A letter from B. T. Martin, proposing to <br /> purchase four lots from the City at 1235 <br /> W. 1st Street, was referred to the staff fOr <br />report at a later date on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Herrin <br />and carried. The Manager indicated this property Would be sold at auction. <br /> <br />SALARIES ~ 8o <br /> <br />Councilman Carlson and carried. <br /> <br />The Manager's Report dated 1/31/68recommending <br />increases for meritorious service was approved <br />on motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by <br /> <br />BOND RELEASE , TRACT 6036 ~ Acting on the Public Works Director's <br /> recommendation, the maintenance bond for <br /> Tract 6036, Carriage Drive and Spruce, was <br />released on motion of Councilman Carlson, seconded by Councilman Griset and carried. <br /> <br />BOND RELEASE - TRACT 5653 ~ ~ Acting on the Public Works Director's <br /> recommendation, maintenance bond for Tract <br /> 5653, Spruce and San Lorenzo, was released <br />on motion of CounciLman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Markel and carried. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Mayor McMichael reported on his participation <br /> in the recent Governor's Conference on <br /> Building and Housing in Sacramento. Councilman <br />Carlson spoke of the recently enacted Green Amendment which would require active <br />participation of public officials in administration of community action council funds. <br /> <br />Councilman Markel commented on proposed sign ordinance now under study and preparation <br />by the staff, and remarked on the number, placing and size of signs for streets, <br />parking, etc. <br /> <br />Mrs. Janice Boer invited the Councilmen to a meeting of the Property Owners Pro- <br />tective League on February 9th; stated she would like to be considered for member- <br />ship on the Citizen-Government Advisory Committee for Traffic Safety; said that <br />the drop box at the Library is creating a traffic hazard; and stated opposition to <br />conveyance of title in Irvine - County land swap. <br /> <br />RECESS At 4:10 P.M. the meeting was rebessed to <br /> 7:30 P.M., at which time it was reconvened <br /> with the same Councilmen present. Following <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was delivered by Brigadier <br />General Goldthwaite of The Salvation Army. <br /> <br />EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION <br /> <br />cards in the Employees Association. <br /> <br />Clarence Conklin, President of the Santa <br />Ana City Employees Association, presented <br />each Councilman with honorary membership <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />373 <br /> <br />February 5, 1968 <br /> <br /> <br />
