MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING ~ ~ <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:00 P.}4. in the Council Chamb~ <br />North Main Street with the following Councilmen present: Wsde Herrin, <br />Walter Brooks, James E. Carlson, J. Ogden Markel, Thomas W. Thurman and <br />Mayor Tom McMichael. Councilman Lorin Griset was absent. Also present <br />were City Manager Carl J. Thornton, City Attorney William L. Mock~ <br />Director of Public Works Ronald Wolford~ Planning Director Van Stevens, <br />and Clerk of the Council Doris M. Brown. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />1968, were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded <br />by Councilman Herrin and carried, t'he <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting of April l, <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> <br />Centennial Celebration Committee. <br />with the same Councilmen present <br /> <br />At 2:02 P.M. the City Council adjourned <br />to executive session for approximately <br />one-half hour to discuss membership of <br />The Council reconvened at 2:30 P.M. <br /> <br />CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE On motion of Councilman Herrin~ seconded <br /> by CounciLman Carlson and carried, the <br /> following persons were appointed to the <br />Centennial Committee to plan social and civic activities in celebration of <br />the 10Oth anniversary of the City's founding in 1869: Charles Swanner, <br />Allen Goddard, Reverend Galal Gough, Ted Parker, Francis Griset, Bill Dennis, <br />Tom Thorkelson, Art Balensiefer, Jack Bassler, Mrs. Bill Heil, Mrs. Don <br />Christeson, Mrs. LeRay Quick, Mr. Dwight Hamilton. <br /> <br />PROJECT C-153 (II) On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded <br /> by Councilman Carlson and carried, the <br /> City Council ordered filed report of <br />bids received for Project C-153(II), asphalt concrete service road and <br />pathways in Prentice Park; awarded contract at unit prices to the low bidder, <br />Sully-Miller Contracting Company; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />PROJECT C-163 On motion of Councilman Brooks~ seconded <br /> by Councilman Carlson and carried~ the <br /> City Council ordered filed report of <br />bids received for Project C-163, installation of elevated floor system and <br />two five-ton module air systems in the Computer Room, City Hall; awarded <br />contract at unit prices to the lowest best bidder, Liskey Aluminum, Inc.; <br />and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL hi.6 April 15, 1968 <br /> <br /> <br />
