SOLICITATION APPLICATIONS O~ motion of Councilman Griset, seconded <br /> by COUnCilman Herrin and carried, the <br /> following Solicitation Applications were <br />approved: <br /> <br /> Veterans of Foreign Wars, Poppy Sale, 5/24 and 5/25/68. <br /> <br /> Boy Scouts of America, ticket sale, 5/10 - 6/8/68. <br /> <br /> United Cerebral Palsy, soliciti~g funds, 5/11 - 5/18/68. <br /> <br /> Multiple Sclerosis Society, -~-,,-1 campaign,~ 5/12 ~ 6/16/68. <br /> <br />CO~YNICATION LINE <br /> <br />The request from McLean Motor Company <br />for permission to place a communication <br />line under Second Street between Bush <br /> <br />and Spurgeon was approved subject to necessary permits and holding city <br />harmless, on motion of Councilman Nerrin, seconded by Councilman Griset. <br />roll call vote. <br /> AYES: Herrin, ~rooks, Carlson, Griset, Thurman, McMichael <br /> NOES: Markel <br /> ABS~': None <br /> <br />On <br /> <br />BILLLA~DS Noting that the building has been <br /> inspected by the Department of <br /> Building Safety and Housing and meets <br />all requirements, the notice of change in ownership of Moon's Billiard <br />Parlor at 220~ East Srd Street was o~iered filed on motion of Councilman <br />Nerrin, secouded by Councilmam Griset and carried. <br /> <br />VACATION LEAVE The communication from Dale Neinly, <br /> attorney representing the Firemen's <br /> Benevolent Association~ regarding <br />advance vacation policy, Section 2252, Mumicipal Code, was presented. Dale <br />Heinly spoke on behalf of the request to not require "paying back" vacation <br />leave taken in advance. Council discussed the matter at length. <br /> <br />RECESS <br /> <br />At 9:05 P.M. a five minute recess was <br />declared. The Council reconvened at <br />9:10 P.M. with all Councilmen present. <br /> <br />After further discussion, it was moved by Councilman Brooks, seconded by <br />Councilman Griset, to uphold the position of the staff and deny the request <br />to change the policy.
