CIVIC CENTER ~9~ ~ <br /> <br />Center Comm~ ~sion present · <br /> <br />Council discussed the Capital Improvement <br />Program for the Civic Center with the <br />City Manager and members of the Civic <br /> <br />0~ motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilm-~ Carlson, the City Co~u~cil <br />approved the program with 56% to 4~% apportionment of development costs between <br />County and City; authorized Civic CenterCommission to negotiate with and enter <br />into agreement with architects, with an allocation of not more than $90,000 for <br />architect/e~gineer services; smd expressed appreciation to the Civic Center <br />Commission, and the staff as well, for the fine work in developing the program. <br />O~ roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />AB~E~T: <br /> <br />Nerrin, Brooks, Carlson, Griset, Thurman, McMichael <br />Markel <br />None <br /> <br />SALARIES q ~) <br /> ~, The Manager's report dated April 90, <br /> 1968, recommending increases for <br /> meritorious service, was approved on <br />motion of Councilman Carlson, seconded by Councilman Griset and carried. <br /> <br />TAX D~ED PROP~T~ ,~ ~% On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded <br /> by Councilmau Herrin and carried, Council <br /> approved a~d authorized agreement with <br />County of Orange for purchase of a parcel of tax deeded real property along <br />Standard Avenue (AP 11-251-~6 code ll-O03). <br /> <br />TAX EX~m~ION LEGISLATION ~' On motion of Co,mucilman Thurman, <br /> seconded by Councilman Griset and <br /> carried, the City Council concurred <br />with the City Attorney's recommendation to oppose E.R. 162~1, which would <br />eliminate the exemption for tax on local government officials' travel, and <br />directed that a letter be sent to the proper legislators stating the Council's <br />position. <br /> <br />RECESS At ~:~0 P.M., the meeting was recessed <br /> to 7:30 P.M., at which time it was <br /> reconvened with all Councilmen present. <br />Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag~,the Invocation was delivered <br />by the Reverend George Stookey of Pacific View Memorial Park. <br /> <br />N(~gA~T BLVD.
