PARCEL MAP 561 Parcel Map 561, filed by California <br /> Leasimg Service, creating 2 parcels <br /> o~ the west side of Lyon Street north <br />of Edinger, was approved subject to conditions in Planning Director's report <br />dated July 1, 1968, on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman <br />Carlson and carried, with Councilman Markel voting against the motion. <br /> <br />SURPLUS PROPERTY <br /> <br />Co~mcil considered Surplus Property <br />Report 13-68 regarding residence at <br />917 West First Street. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilma~ Griset, to declare <br />the buildiug surplus and authorize demolition. The motion was adopted on the <br />following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABS~m'£': <br /> <br />Herrin, Brooks, Carlson, Griset, ThUrman, McMichael <br />Markel <br />None <br /> <br />FINAL MAP, TRACT 6577 Final Tract Map 6577, filed by Security <br /> Fore Corporation, creating 69 lots at <br /> Eastwood north of Santa Clara, was <br />approved, dedications thereon accepted, and execution of subdivision agreement <br />authorized, on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Counci~an Carlson <br />and carried. <br /> <br />COM~JNITY RELATIONS Council considered the Council Committee <br /> Report on Cmmaunity Relations Program for <br /> Santa Aha. Councilman Markel voiced his <br />opinion that it might he exceeding the premise of the City Council to <br />participate in such a program when other organizations might be doing this; <br />also that he did not think the position of Community Relations Coordinator, <br />recommended in the report, was necessary, that a staff member could perform <br />this function. Councilman Nerrin stated that he was not in favor of hiring <br />a full time Community Relations Coordinator, he thought grievances or <br />complaints of citizens could be handled by members of staff or the City <br />Council itself; and that he did not want the City's standards of hiring <br />changed. Councilman Griset stated that he thought the Cc~ittge had done <br />a very good Job and ~honght Council should follow the recommendations closely. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Carlson, to accept <br />and implement the recommendations of the Council C~mnittee as outlined in <br />the report. The motion was adopted on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Brooks, Carlson, Griset, Thurman, McMichael <br />NOES: Herrin, Markel <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />RECESS <br /> <br />At 4:30 P.M., a five-minute recess was <br /> declared.
