CIVIC CENTER AUTHORITY The City Council considered the request from the Civic Center Commission regarding parking within the Civic Center and the request that two Council members be appointed to meet with the Commission members and the Board of Supervisors to determine the powers of the Civic Center Commission. On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried, Council authorized formation of a committee of two representatives from the City Council and directed that they uphold the rights of our City. Councilman Markel stated he would like the Council representatives to suggest consideration of high rise parking. Mayor McMichael appointed the Council Committee, as requested by the Civic Center Commission, consisting of Vice Mayor Herrin and himself. STREET CLOSING The request from the Downtown Santa Ana A~ssociation to close off traffic on Sycamore from the alley between Third and Fourth Streets to Fourth Street, 6:00 to 10:00 P. PARCEL MAP 578 Parcel Map 578, filed by Lester and Roblynn Murman, creating 3 lots at the southwest corner of McFadden and Oak, was approved subject to conditions in Planning Director's report dated November 13, 1968, and alley req{~,'ement was waived, on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried. PARCEL MAP 579 Parcel Map 579, filed by P. R.C. Development Corp., creating 3 lots at the northwest corner of' Sunflower and Flower, was approved subject to conditions in Planning Director's report dated November 14, 1968, and alley requirement was waived, on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Herrin and carried. Due to a conflict of interest, Councilman Thurman left the Council Chamber before discussion of the next item. TOWING SERVICES sentence in Item n. on Page 4 of the proposed requirements be changed to read that "One of the tow trucks shall be twin-boomed." Commenting on the proposed regulations were the following: Bill Rush, owner of Santa Aha Towing; Ben Warner, of Ben Warner's Garage; and James Thompson, The Manager's report on proposed regulations for police towing list was considered by Council.
