MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF TI~E CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA0 CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />July 7, 1969 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:00 P. M., in the First Assembly of <br />God Church, 500 West Sixth Street, with the following Councilmen present: <br />Wade Herrin, Walter Brooks, Thomas W. Thurman, Ray Villa, and <br />Mayor Lorin Griset. Councilmen J. Ogden Markel and Jerry M. Patterson <br />were absent, but Councilman Patterson arrived later in the meeting. <br />Also present were City Manager Carl J. Thornton, City Attorney William <br />L. Mock, Assistant Director of Public Works Henry Mohle, Director of <br />Planning Van Stevens, and Clerk of the Council Florence I. Malone. <br /> <br />MINUTES On motion of Councilman Villa, <br /> seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br /> unanimously carried, the Minutes of <br />the Regular Meeting of June 16, 1969, and the Adjourned Regular Meeting <br />of June 30, 1969, and the Adjourned Regular Meeting of July 2, 1969 <br />were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />SPEC. 371-114 On motion of Councilman Herrin, <br />ASPHALTIC CONCRETE seconded by Councilman Brooks and <br /> unanimously carried, Council ordered <br />filed report of bids received for Spec. 371-114, Asphaltic Concrete; <br />awarded contract to the low bidder, Industrial Asphalt, Inc., at unit <br />prices; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />DUe to a conflict of interest on the next item, Mayor Griset excused <br />himself from the Council Chambers. <br /> <br />PROJECT 1268 On motion of Councilman Brooks, <br />MACARTHUR BOU!.F, VARD seconded by Councilman Villa and <br /> unanimously carried, Council ordered <br />filed report of bids received for Project 1268, Construction of MacArthur <br />Boulevard from Bristol Street to Ramona Drive; awarded contract to <br />the low bidder, Mark Construction Co., at unit prices; and rejected <br />all other bids. <br /> <br />Mayor Griset returned to the Council table. <br /> <br />SPEC. 631-128 It was moved by Councilman Brooks, <br />DOMESTIC WATER METERS seconded by Councilman Villa and <br /> unanimously carried, to remove from <br />the table the motion made on June 16, by Councilman Patterson, seconded <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />-257- July 7, 1969 <br /> <br /> <br />
